Margot and Monroe. Thank you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HolyMilkBoobiesBatman · 09/10/2023 16:44

Margot is beautiful, Monroe is not to my taste, sorry.

Also, I know you didn’t ask but just my thoughts - siblings with the same initial tend to get mixed up a lot, that will happen even more so if they are twins (particularly if identical- you haven’t said if they are). I would just think carefully about giving them a bit more individuality or they may grow to resent it (they are likely to be bundled together as ‘the twins’ enough as it is). You could do something like Margot and Winnie for example - not rhyming, not the same initial but the M/W sort of mirror imaging each other is a nice touch if having a sort of matching link is important to you whilst still giving your children a bit more of an individual identity.

Either of the A names are better than Monroe tbh.

Just sticking my nose in with my suggestions of Margot and

Felicity
Genevieve
Cecily
Harriet

Everydayimhuffling · 09/10/2023 16:43

Margot goes with either of the others without being too matchy.

SoupDragon · 09/10/2023 16:42

Ladady · 09/10/2023 16:41

Ok thank you. The other choice was Anastasia or Adeline for one of them

Far better than Monroe!

RandomButtons · 09/10/2023 16:42

Why do they have to have same initials? Their. Life will be much simpler with different initials.

Reddog1 · 09/10/2023 16:42

Margot is gorgeous and classy. Your other girl deserves a gorgeous and classy name also.

Avoid a matchy-matchy name. Their twin-ness doesn’t define them.

BoohooWoohoo · 09/10/2023 16:42

Feel sorry for Monroe. I think that you'll be asked if you like Marilyn?

BarnacleBeasley · 09/10/2023 16:42

I think Margot and Adeline go well together as they have kind of a similar feel while being totally different names.

Myneighboursarewankers · 09/10/2023 16:41

These are absolutely not names I would ever go for usually (my dcs names are abit out there) but actually, I think they are really cute 💜and sound good together

SoupDragon · 09/10/2023 16:41

Dreadful.

I've never liked Margot and Monroe is truly awful. Together they are dreadful.

RandomButtons · 09/10/2023 16:41

Too similar imo, I like Margot though.

Ladady · 09/10/2023 16:41

Do they have to have name starting with the same letter ? I'd let them have a bit more individuality. Margot is fine, Monroe is a surname IMO.

Nevermind31 · 09/10/2023 16:41

I don’t like either, sorry. But the main thing is… do you like them? Personally I would stay away from anything that rhymes or starts with the same letter. They are individuals, not part of a cutesy pack

Wilkolampshade · 09/10/2023 16:40

Congrats on your twins OP. ❤️
Love Margot. Not so keen on Monroe... is it really important to you they start with the same letter?
Mariam? Miriam? Mirabelle?

Brumbies · 09/10/2023 16:40

Not Margot - I'd always be thinking of the insipid woman from tv and her child.

Monroe I like.

Mandy?

VeridicalVagabond · 09/10/2023 16:40

Not together no. I don't think twins should have similar or matchy matchy names at all to be honest, and they really are very similar sounding.

Everydayimhuffling · 09/10/2023 16:40

I think it's a terrible idea to give twins the same initial. You're asking for trouble with post and banking issues and CRB checks later. Remember that they are two little humans not "the twins".

Myneighboursarewankers · 09/10/2023 16:40

This just makes me think of washing up gloves

Leeds2 · 09/10/2023 16:40

I like Margot.
I don't like Monroe at all, but especially not with Margot as they are too similar. Also rather Marilyn Monroe.

Labradoodlie · 09/10/2023 16:39

Quite naff.

millypeggyandpandora · 09/10/2023 16:39

I like Margot but not Monroe. Both the names together sounds a bit like a 80s police detective series like “ Cagney and Lacey”.

Bonbon21 · 09/10/2023 16:39

Please!!
Different initials, no rhyming!
They will be two very different people!

MissMillyFluff · 09/10/2023 16:38

Margot is lovely. When I see the name Monroe I think of a face piercing 😬

Sailawaytocromer · 09/10/2023 16:38

Not Monroe. Monroe is awful.
