Margot and Monroe. Thank you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Purplebunnie · 09/10/2023 17:18

Margot is very popular at the moment, I rather like it.

Personally I would avoid having names starting with the same letter. Know families where some members have the same initial, can get awkward in later life with the post etc but it's your choice

I think Margot and Anastasia would be lovely

AHelpfulHand · 09/10/2023 17:18

Both horrible.

if I had twins they would be called Rosanna and Holly

Twospaniels · 09/10/2023 17:17

Margot - if you must - but definitely not Monroe.

Adeline does go well with Margot.

But I always feel Anastasia is a name someone gives when they are trying to be posher than they are. Sorry to all the Anastasia’s out there.

Don’t give them the same initials, my sister and her eldest have the same initials and now the daughter is an adult and getting her own ‘official’ mail, it gets muddled as they both use the title ‘Ms’ .

Daffodilwoman · 09/10/2023 17:17

Monroe is awful.
Don’t use the same initial.

User562377 · 09/10/2023 17:16

Margot and Adeline. An unusual combination but nice.

Daisylookslost · 09/10/2023 17:16

@Confrontayshunme ah that’s why it best to shorten to Anna

Topsyturvy78 · 09/10/2023 17:16

No sorry you might as well call one Marilyn and the other Monroe. Too similar

Maireas · 09/10/2023 17:15

Margot and Adeline would be nice.
I'm just going to agree with pp and say, please give them different initials. They're individual children, not a matching pair.
Also - not Monroe..

BerriesNutsConkers · 09/10/2023 17:15

Please give them different sounding names and different initials! Far too similar.

Daisylookslost · 09/10/2023 17:15

Love @tolerable ’s suggestion! ❤️ Margot and Anna
failing that, Margot and Adeline ok

Confrontayshunme · 09/10/2023 17:14

As a Reception TA, unless you are going to call her Addie or Ana, Monroe is easier to spell! We had a poor Anastasia last year and it took her forever to write her name!😂

WitchyWitcherson · 09/10/2023 17:14

Another vote for Margot and Adeline!

Anastasia is also lovely, but the other two pair very well and are individual enough too ❤

Imisscoffee2021 · 09/10/2023 17:13

Adeline is better than Monroe, but I prefer the Adaline spelling as then it can be shortened to Ada.

Einevinefine · 09/10/2023 17:13

Not keen on either Margot or Monroe but love Anastasia and Adeline.
Congratulations on your pregnancy x

CinnamonBear · 09/10/2023 17:11

Another vote for Margot and Adeline

MsLavender · 09/10/2023 17:10

If they have the same initial they'll be opening each others post addressed to "Miss M Ladady" - obviously not an issue now but in teen years when they've ordered something online and the other sibling has opened their parcel they might get pissed off with it happening all the time 😆

tuvamoodyson · 09/10/2023 17:10

Awful.

Fifireee · 09/10/2023 17:09

If you want them to have the same initial then go for it. Of course they’ll be separate people. Margot is lovely. Monroe is ok.

mumof2many1943 · 09/10/2023 17:09

Just be careful my friends names both began with M. Valentine’s Day was mayhem in their house as they fought like cat and dog over all the cards coming through the door for Miss M Blank!!

renata2485 · 09/10/2023 17:09

The first thing I thought was Marilyn Monroe and then I realised it was Margot not Marilyn.

I like Margot but don't like Monroe, and certainly not with another vintage style M name.

HolyMilkBoobiesBatman · 09/10/2023 17:08

On your update of ‘Adeline’ as an option.
Would people assume they shared an initial and her name was actually ’Madeline’? Would she be forever correcting people? (Or would they be referred to in Alphabetical order to avoid this?)
Genuinely don’t know if this would happen and/or if it’s a concern. Just something that occurred to me after reading all the posts saying these two names went well together.

Melissamelisante · 09/10/2023 17:08

Margot and Elspeth

Enko · 09/10/2023 17:08

Anastasia or Adeline are both lovely names but I would avoid 2 names starting with the same. I do not like Margot or Monroe personally.

Isthisrealorjustfantasy · 09/10/2023 17:07

MassageForLife · 09/10/2023 16:58

Don't go for Margot and Felicity!! People of a certain age will absolutely associate that with The Good Life.

I prefer Monroe to Margot, but that's because of The Good Life. Margot was just an awful character - but I don't think Monroe would be great with a really feminine name like Anastasia.

My thoughts exactly!
I do like the name Margot though & it goes well with Adeline.
