Margot and Monroe. Thank you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That's just as bad, matchy. I don't like the alternative spelling of Mabel, either.

Not what I would call twins either! But the names I would choose would raise more eyebrows than alternative spellings.

morag1234 · 09/10/2023 17:42

Margot and Adeline works great.
Not a fan of Monroe.

ACynicalDad · 09/10/2023 17:39

No, let them be individuals, don't be twee.

Purplesilkpyjamas · 09/10/2023 17:39

No to both

FcukTheDay · 09/10/2023 17:38

Margot and Mable

Ohnonotanotheroneeek · 09/10/2023 17:37

Margot and Adeline together are lovely. Great names individually and together they flow off the tongue

Ilefttownonsaturday · 09/10/2023 17:36

Margot and Adaline is better than Margot and Monroe.

SophieJo · 09/10/2023 17:35

Don’t like either, sorry.

tachetastic · 09/10/2023 17:35

I love Margot and would recommend that. I think Monroe sounds quite chavvy.

I confess I am not a huge fan of Adeline, but I prefer it over Anastasia, which sounds like you're trying too hard. I don't think anybody needs five syllables in one name and just think of the poor thing learning to spell her name at school!!! 😂

Minime88888888 · 09/10/2023 17:33

I prefer Adeline and Margot .

Sadie43 · 09/10/2023 17:32

Congratulations.

I think they’re both pretty, OP, esp Margot. I really liked Margot for my little one (French family) but a friend pipped me to the post so I avoided it then. I’m glad I did as it seems very popular now, with Margot Robbie and Billie Faiers from The Only Way is Essex naming her daughter it.

A few considerations though:
I’d avoid M&M personally - while there are worst insults, kids can be inventive with teasing and nicknames.

I personally wouldn’t go for the same initials for siblings and especially not twins. I’d be so excited about their two very different personalities and looks and ways.

Monroe is a bit ‘celebrity’ - Mariah Carey has twins Monroe and Morocco I believe who would be quite old now. I’d assume you were inspired by her or a fan of hers.

Margot and Monroe. Thank you

Don’t like them. They are individuals first and twins second. DT’s names are totally different.

Teabag37 · 09/10/2023 17:30

Margot & Mina

Minime88888888 · 09/10/2023 17:30

No.

muddyford · 09/10/2023 17:28

Not Monroe.

Clarinet1 · 09/10/2023 17:27

I agree that having the same initial ad DOB could cause all sorts of problems throughout life so I would definitely avoid this. Margot is fine and I quite like Anastasia - could be Ana for short or Princess Margaret was known as Margot in the family so perhaps you could go for one of the forms of Elizabeth for the other twin!

LovedmyRaleighChopper · 09/10/2023 17:26

Margot is quite nice.
Monroe is hideous.
Adeline is gorgeous.

viques · 09/10/2023 17:23

Ladady · 09/10/2023 16:41

Ok thank you. The other choice was Anastasia or Adeline for one of them

Margot and Adeline it is then!

HikingforScenery · 09/10/2023 17:23

i like both of these. I don’t like the M’s in your OP though. sorry
i think of maggot when i near Margot. i think of Monroe as an old man

ActDottie · 09/10/2023 17:22

I like Margot but not monroe

Runnerinthenight · 09/10/2023 17:21

My vote is Margot and Anastasia. Or just Margot and Ana?

Zmasshoprace · 09/10/2023 17:20

Margot is awful sorry but it sounds granish

laclochette · 09/10/2023 17:20

My mum's a twin and she hated anything that blurred them into one being, rather than letting them be seen as individuals....some twins love it, but she and her sister didn't. A name is something they're not going to be able to control as easily as other things such whether they choose to dress similarly or do similar activities etc etc so I wouldn't give them the same initial/rhyming names. If they want to emphasise their similarities, they can use those other methods. If they don't, they don't have to push back on their names. So that's one part of it. The other is that it'll make life administratively tricky, you'll have to use their middle initials half the time to avoid mixups!

I absolutely love Margot, but every other baby girl I meet these days is called Margot. Depends if that sort of thing matters to you, it may not.

category12 · 09/10/2023 17:18

Monroe seems like a boy's name to me if a first name.
