Margot and Monroe. Thank you

OP posts:

I'd go for two different initials. There was so many arguments in my friend's house with twin opening other twins mail.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 09/10/2023 18:08

Yes, YABU not to use the baby names board!

ClairDeLaLune · 09/10/2023 18:08

Monroe is terrible! It’s a surname. And the collective name for mountains in Scotland - “Monroe bagging” is a thing (possibly Munro but sounds the same)

Please please don’t!

Adeline and Anastasia are really pretty.

godmum56 · 09/10/2023 18:07

DO NOT have two kids with the same first initial. I went through school with this and even though there is two years between us I was forever getting told I had missed a detention, had late arrival marks or missed registration because my awful sister had been misbehaving and her name had been written down as "J Godmum56" with the first initial only

Danielle9891 · 09/10/2023 18:05

If you give them the same initials and obviously the same date of birth it's a nightmare for ID purposes. My partner and his brother were always getting letters from the bank or doctors or that with Mr K Surname. It caused a lot of arguments. Even the other week his brothers doctor rang him instead.

mannekenpis · 09/10/2023 18:02

I share an initial with one of my siblings and it was a total pain in the arse with mail. I purposely avoided it with my DC. And that's not even twins. The names themselves, Margot is nice and I'm sure having a moment after the Barbie movie. Monroe? So many people seem to assume this is for a girl in the comments. I thought boy, but that's maybe my Scottish roots - Munro?

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 09/10/2023 17:58

I like Margot. It´s rather lovely.

Monroe really isn´t my cup of tea.

Adeline and Anastasia are both very pretty.

Margot and Anastasia or Margot and Adeline would be great!

CoralineP · 09/10/2023 17:58

Margot & Adeline ✅

MysteryBelle · 09/10/2023 17:58

BeaLola · 09/10/2023 17:53

Margot & Beatrice /Beatrix
Margot & Claudia
Margot & Verity

These are very nice especially Beatrix and Verity.

Arniesleftleg · 09/10/2023 17:57

Margot is adorable, Monroe, not so much. Margot and Meryl. Margot and Marlie. Margot and Meryn. Just for some different names.

MysteryBelle · 09/10/2023 17:56

Criteria for a name could meaning, history, how it sounds, how it looks. Adeline does have a nice meaning and Monroe has a good history. But neither sounds nor looks appealing to me.

Hummingbird233 · 09/10/2023 17:54

No. As a fellow twin mum, I cringe when other twin mums make a point of the fact they're twins by alliterating their names. Oh and dressing them the same, nothing weirder than seeing 7 year olds dressed identically!

They're two separate individuals and won't want to be all cutesy forever. I find it's more about attention seeking from parents usually.

Margoe is fine, Munroe, not so much imo but names are very personal. Just choose two lovely names, don't look for matching names!

Butteredtoast55 · 09/10/2023 17:54

Monroe and Adeline? Are you a fan of Grimm?
Margot is lovely.

BeaLola · 09/10/2023 17:53

Margot & Beatrice /Beatrix
Margot & Claudia
Margot & Verity

Balloonhearts · 09/10/2023 17:52

Not for me. Monroe to me us a boys name and Margot my great great grandmother. Very old fashioned. Adeline is lovely but Anastasia is the wet lettuce girl in that crappy porn book 50 shades of grey. Immediate association for me.

MysteryBelle · 09/10/2023 17:51

I don’t like Margot that much either but it’s much better than Monroe. I like Maisie a lot. Adeline, not a fan.

Electrictache · 09/10/2023 17:50

Margot is lovely and I think goes with Adeline.
I wouldn't match initials. Too cutesy now and annoying for them when they get older.

need2findwork · 09/10/2023 17:50

I would go for Margot and Adeline from the options you put out there.

Butterkist8 · 09/10/2023 17:49

I'd avoid similar names for twins.
Margot is lovely.
Monroe isn't, imo.

I'd be looking for very separate identities for twins.
Similar sounding names will confuse teaching staff and others.

Differing names will make life easier and provide different identities for your twins.

need2findwork · 09/10/2023 17:49

I wouldn't use the same initials and Monroe is awful, sorry. Love Margot!

Rockbird · 09/10/2023 17:49

Margot is lovely, Monroe is horrendous. Not keen on Adeline either but it's a million times better than Monroe.

MysteryBelle · 09/10/2023 17:47

dingit · 09/10/2023 16:37

No
Margot and Maisie

I love these!

MartyFunkhouser · 09/10/2023 17:47

Monroe is just awful.

Having them both with the same initial is too twee.

Goneforaride · 09/10/2023 17:46

Nope ... both awful, and agree with pp who said they should have different initials to avoid confusion in the future.

Viviennemary · 09/10/2023 17:45

Margot is ok. But I'm not personally that keen. Monroe is totally dire.
