Margot and Monroe. Thank you

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
uncomfortablydumb53 · 09/10/2023 18:38

They are too similar for twins and I'm sorry but Monroe is awful

jadey1991 · 09/10/2023 18:38

Hi op, don't like margot. Monroe is a lovely name tho

ItsyourSam · 09/10/2023 18:37

Another vote for Margot and Evelyn. Beautiful!

MysteryBelle · 09/10/2023 18:37

Everly is very pretty, Op. My most favorite names are Daisy and Violet. I just love those two names so much. Might be why I liked Maisie when you mentioned it. Anastasia is very nice too.

ElizaMulvil · 09/10/2023 18:36

Another thought re Margot- it's a gift for people to call her maggot!

tachetastic · 09/10/2023 18:35

Margot and Evelyn are nice. I think they go well together.

I love Margot and I prefer Evelyn to Adeline and Anastasia. Monroe is just awful (though someone earlier spelt in Munroe and I didn't mind that as much).

I've never heard of Everly as a first name. Would you be confining her to a life of "as in the brothers", or am I just showing my age?????

PortalooSunset · 09/10/2023 18:35

Margot yes, Monroe no.

Like Adeline and Evelyn from your other suggestions but wouldn't put the 2 together.

ElizaMulvil · 09/10/2023 18:34

Agree don't use the same initial for both.

Think about your 5 year old learning to spell her name. Anastasia is v difficult - (and awful) Do you want people to shorten it to Nasty?

Why give her problems. Think of something simple and phonetic eg Bella, Nina, etc. - a name she can learn quickly will give her confidence when she most needs it to get off on the right foot with writing.

Otherwise she will always be the girl who couldn't get her name right. Anna eg is much better.

Margot ( not phoetic,) unless you want people to be always pronouncing the 't'. Monroe, awful too.

SomeoneKidda · 09/10/2023 18:34

Margot is lovely. Monroe isn't. Margot and Evelyn sounds gorgeous.

I'd avoid matchy matchy names tbh. It's a bit 'pets' to me. I like Margot and Pearl as well.

Or Evelyn

Margot and Evelyn is my favourite combination of those you’ve mentioned. Similar type of names, different initial letters, different ending sound. I also think they look nice written down together.

Sadie43 · 09/10/2023 18:26

Margot and Evelyn are beautiful OP.

CoreopsisEverywhere · 09/10/2023 18:26

Love Margot

I honestly think you should use different initials and not rhyme

DoesNotPlayWellWithIdiots · 09/10/2023 18:24

Ladady · 09/10/2023 16:41

Ok thank you. The other choice was Anastasia or Adeline for one of them

I love Adeline! Anastasia's pretty too, and I really like Margot 😊
Not at all keen on Monroe, sorry.

FeelingOblivion · 09/10/2023 18:24

Bonbon21 · 09/10/2023 16:39

Please!!
Different initials, no rhyming!
They will be two very different people!

This!!
They're people not puppies.

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 09/10/2023 18:19

I like Margot but Monroe is a surname to me, especially in Ireland.

They will also be called M&Ms or some other chocolate references - snacks when they are older etc.

I think with twins there are so many things they will share that at a lot of occasions the only thing that will actually seperate them especially to those who don't know them well is their names. Just my personal preference but I don't like matchy matchy twin names. Complementary is better.

Margot & Adeline is a lovely combination. Both slightly unusual but not unheard of and both in the same vein.

PlasticineKing · 09/10/2023 18:18

Remember if they’re both girls and same initial that post will be a pain in the bum. Next door has 2 girls (older) and their bank statements are always being muddled up

vibecheck · 09/10/2023 18:18

I love Anastasia, nickname Anya. Much nicer than Monroe.

JoanOfAllTrades · 09/10/2023 18:17

Isn’t Monroe a boys name?

I love Margaux/Margot and also:

Rosaline
Venetia
Clara
Seraphina
Francesca
Anastasia
Katerina
Isabella
Mae Belle ( pronounced like Mabel but with emphasis on Mae)
Coraline
Vienna

I will be here all night! But a few names there!

Edit: added another name!

LilyMumsnet · 09/10/2023 18:16

We're just moving this over to baby names. Flowers

Ladady · 09/10/2023 18:15

another we have on the list is Everly

SoShallINever · 09/10/2023 18:11

No, I think Margot looks like "maggot" written down. Monroe is awful unless you are Scottish and naming your child after a mountain.

Annasoror · 09/10/2023 18:10

Anastasia is a beautiful name and can be shortened to either Ana, Daisy or Stacey.

Issummernearlyover · 09/10/2023 18:09

My beautiful aunt was Marguerite Adeline. So yes to Margot and Adeline.

MariePaperRoses · 09/10/2023 18:09

Margot is ok. Monroe is terrible.

Marnie and Mabel?
