Hi, I have managed to shorten my very long list down to these 8 names for my baby girl, so please give me your thoughts on them:
Rosalie, Tate, Maeve, Romy, Thea, Ruby, Zoey, Juno
I really want to hear other peoples opinions as I dont want to make the wrong choice, also if you have any similar name ideas please let me know!

My dd is called zoe love it x

dressedforcomfort · 11/10/2023 21:19

In order of preference:
Love:
Rosalie,
Juno
Romy
Zoe (this spelling though. Zoey is awful!)

OK:

Ruby

Dislike
Tate - a meh nothingy name.
Maeve - frumpy
Thea - my school bully was Thea. Always has negative associations for me.

Billlio · 11/10/2023 20:31

I love Juno ❤️ had it on my list but my partner says no 😭 also love Zoey with this spelling!

clipclop5 · 10/10/2023 23:06

Maeve - Absolutely love, one of my own top choices
Zoey - Nice name but far prefer the Zoë spelling
Ruby - Not bad but very common
Tate - only ever heard it as a boys name, not a fan either way
Rosalie - meh, a bit over complicated + wet
Thea - nope, very simple and feels like a weak name to me
Romy - being massively overdone at the minute
Juno - a dog name for every other golden retriever where we are!!

Rosalie and Juno -- sweet.
Zoe without the Y is timeless
Ruby has been popular for 25 years but is still chic
Thea -- drab, but OK as nn for Theodora or Dorothea
Romy -- OK as nn for Rosemary, Romily, Romola and Ramona, but not as a standalone name
Tate -- no. Maybe Kate for Katherine or Kathleen.

Congratulations OP! A new person in the world is most exciting.

Like Maeve Romy Ruby Juno

Hate Tate

Blackandwhitemakesgrey · 09/10/2023 00:37

I really really like Tate - for a boy.

Your girls names are all fine but aren't the style of name I'd go for so there isn't any point putting them in order of what I dislike the least.

RoseMartha · 09/10/2023 00:33

Rosalie

Daisybuttercup12345 · 09/10/2023 00:30

Thea
Zoe
Rosalie and Ruby
Don't like the rest.

Anonymouseposter · 07/10/2023 10:49

I really don’t like Tate. I prefer Zoe spelt the traditional way. The others on your list are all okay.

Daffyyellow · 07/10/2023 08:58

Rosalie, lovely name
Tate, a museum not keen as a name
Maeve, it’s fine
Romy, I prefer Romilly
Thea, lovely
Ruby, it’s very popular but I’m not so keen
Zoey, I prefer Zoe
Juno, not keen

TheYear2000 · 07/10/2023 08:44

Rosalie, Maeve and Thea are lovely.

Juno is pretty common around here.
I really don't like Tate for a girl (or a boy tbh), makes me think of Victorian industrialists whose wealth was rooted in slavery.
How about Tatiana with NN Tati?

UnpropitiousNightmares · 07/10/2023 08:06

Ruby

Ilikeyourdecor · 07/10/2023 08:04

I like Rosalie and Zoey (Zoey is my favourite).

I dislike Tate and Maeve (although I know lots of Maeves).

Others I think are ok.

SammyScrounge · 07/10/2023 02:37

Rosalie is a pretty name.
Tate is awful.

Myneighboursarewankers · 06/10/2023 23:56

I would deffo say Romy and state are boys names. I think Ruby is cute!

ElizaMulvil · 06/10/2023 23:55

Not keen on any - Zoe at a pinch.
Maeve ( Ok if Ireland)
Juno - no
Romy, Tate - awful
Thea -no ugly
Rosalie - twee
Ruby - no dated

ourflagmeansdeath · 06/10/2023 23:43

Rosalie - It is nice but there are lots of Rose names
Tate - More of a boy's name/surname to me
Maeve - It's nice
Romy - Not a fan
Thea - Nice enough
Ruby - Lovely
Zoey - Not a fan, especially that spelling
Juno - It's okay

I love Ruby, like Maeve and Rosalie, don't mind Thea or Juno, and don't like Tate, Zoey or Romy.

OopsieeDaisy · 06/10/2023 23:40
