I have a 2.5yo Enid, I (obviously) think it's beautiful and we get loads of compliments on it. I'm sure we also encounter lots of people who think it's harsh, granny, ugly etc but luckily they don't say that. She adores her name.

If you're ok with a polarising name then go for it.

Oh, and I'd love to be called Enid! Names I'd hate to be called are things like Arabella, Olivia, Lily, etc. Luckily we're all different.

If I met a young Enid I imagine my opinion on it might change. And I do agree it’s much better than some of the current top names Lily, Amelia, Olivia etc which are just so dull now.

The red arrows formation of 5 planes is called Enid. Just an alternative association to Blyton....
I like it. Also like Edith and Esther for granny chic

Maybe the other posters don’t have toddler that loves ‘Hey Duggee’, but Enid the cat is a firm favourite around here!! Pronounced ‘ee-nid’ in the show.

I had an Anti Enid and I know a young Enid now -both pronounced the Welsh way. I think its a lovely name.

I know two babies called this. One the Welsh pronunciation (it is a Welsh name and eh-nid is the way it is said) and one English pronunciation ee-nid. . I would automatically say ee-nid because I’m English. I think it’s making a stealth comeback but isn’t too obviously popular atm. If you love it, go for it!

If you love it, do it. It doesn’t really matter what you name a child, the name becomes the bearer and the bearer becomes the name, particularly if the name is unusual. A beautiful, kind and chic Enid? Gorgeous and memorable. Far more so than Edie IMO - and Nid is surely better than Die.
