Oh good god, poor kids. I bet at least one of their parents sees themselves as some sort of 'influencer'

child in my kid’s after school club years ago-

Loki Sutcliffe

I didn’t meet them.

also have met a Mungo. my sister claims Fletcher and Sherlock

Mungo is an old name. Used in Scotland due to St Mungo - patron Saint of Glasgow. Great name.

Similar to Murdo- which I adore & wish I'd used with one of my boys.

Lots of Indigenous families near me. They have some beautiful names, often interspersed with very traditional names from their grandparents (which, sadly, was probably an English name given to them by the residential schools).

E.g Morningstar Jean, RunningBear Walter.

Babygirl888 · 29/09/2023 21:56

I went to college with a girl called Sensimilla. Her dad was a real old school rastafarian. We also had a customer with a daughter called Beautelle.

Glarptip · 29/09/2023 21:55

There's no "most unique."

There's unique and not unique.

LonelyBones · 29/09/2023 21:54

I met the cutest little boy called Xerxes.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 29/09/2023 21:52

Precious, Blessing and Chardonnay really aren't that unusual. Not in the area where I work anyway .

What a horrid sneering thread. No matter what you think of these names the kids didn’t choose them.

Also a lot of ‘old wives tales’ going on here……

Old wives tales? Where!?

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 29/09/2023 21:50

Our next door neighbour growing up was a Laurie. My sister and I just couldn't understand why someone would name their child "lorry".

WetBandits · 29/09/2023 21:41

I’m just waiting for someone to come and tell us that their neighbour’s sister’s friend’s teacher once taught a La-a.

PurpleChrayne · 29/09/2023 21:37

I'm sorry but not all names are beautiful in their own way. A lot of names are pig ugly.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 29/09/2023 21:36

Gowlett · 29/09/2023 19:32

Most unique you say?

Unique. Grin Lovely girl.

We have a Unique at my school. He's lovely too 🤷‍♀️🤣

MirandaBlu · 29/09/2023 21:24

One of my children has a new school friend called Briseida. It's a traditional but apparently rare-ish Spanish language name, mainly used in Mexico/Central America. I'd never heard the name before, but I like it.

Marcipex · 29/09/2023 21:17

I overheard Zephyr and Unity today.

Unusually named nursery children were Moss (boy) and Leaf (a girl). Oh, and Sheldon.
