Baby Brother for Caoimhe

BabyAnon · 26/09/2023 21:51

DD’s name is Caoimhe and I still love it, but I just haven’t fallen in love with any boys names.

I am pregnant with a little boy who is due in 5 weeks and I have no clue what to call him!

No boy’s names really stand out to me.

DH would prefer an Irish name, I don’t really have a preference, as I just seem to be struggling to find anything that I like!

All suggestions are welcome.

Congratulations on the birth of Oisín and hope Caoimhe enjoys being his big sister xx

Congratulations and you have beautiful names for both children

SageRosemary · 11/11/2023 13:35

Oisín is lovely, congratulations on your new arrival!

BabyAnon · 11/11/2023 13:21

Just an update, we went against our non-use of family names and called baby Oisín.
He was very nearly Conleth, but when he was placed in my arms, Oisín just suited him best.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Amias or Amyas?

Darkherds · 01/10/2023 09:54

The Séimí I know is actually a James if that's any help.

LetsDoTheTango · 01/10/2023 07:11

I came on to fly the flag for Torin too! It's my little boy's name, so I am biased. But it suits him down to the ground and we get lots of compliments on it when we're out and about 😊

Congratulations on your growing family @BabyAnonand good luck with the naming, it's so hard!

JadeSeahorse · 01/10/2023 07:02

I had a distant Irish relative named Pascal which I absolutely love.

DameEtna · 01/10/2023 05:26

Someone else has already suggested Donagh, but if it's a vote...

BabyAnon · 30/09/2023 22:18

Back to the drawing board, DH has decided he doesn’t like Séimí as a given name, unless we call the baby Seamus as his full name, which I’m not keen on.

His brothers are Conall and Oisin, so although I like those names, we don’t really want to use family names.

I think we might need to cast our nets wider and maybe look beyond Irish names if we’re not having any luck with Irish names.

I came across a baby Páidí this week which I think is lovely. Pronounced Paw-dee

GEK1983 · 27/09/2023 19:31

Conall?

Sorry @Darkherds, my error.

Don't worry, it's a common mistake. I think the gh of cough is more familiar to people 😀

I do also like Enda, but I work with a man named Enda and feel like it’s a bit weird to name my baby his name.

I think I like Séimí, NN Sé so I’ll see what DH thinks.

100% girls names are easier to pick than boys names!
