Marnie or Marni?

MarnieorMarni · 24/09/2023 12:13

Asking for a friend. Unfortunately it isn't me. She's just had a baby and they're set on calling her Marnie or Marni but can't decide which spelling. Which do people prefer?

TIA

Marni looks like martini to me

Definitely with the "E" - otherwise it doesn't look right/finished

Marnie.
Marni is a wildly overpriced designer clothing brand, (although that may not be an issue?)

It's also a Hitchcock film

Marnie. As a poster says, Marni looks unfinished

CelestialSausage · 24/09/2023 12:31

JamSandle · 24/09/2023 12:30

Marnie will be the default spelling, so in my mind it’s probably easier to go for that assuming they would pronounce them the same?
