I really like it.

Loathe Susan though, such a dreary name.

ScruffMuffin · 23/09/2023 18:39

I like it, but I love Susannah and know two (one in her 50s, and a teenager).
I think Susan will be fashionable soon. I know a few little Marys, although I guess that one never really goes away.

Mrburnshound · 23/09/2023 18:31

Susan is my favourite and sounds plucky and cool to me.

Susannah is beautiful.

Suzanne is ok but i'm not a fan of the Z bit

peaceinourtime · 23/09/2023 14:18

It’s a nice name. Don’t be put off using it OP.

Thisbastardcomputer · 15/09/2023 08:50

Love it

Suzanne - smart and artistic, reminds me of Cezanne.
Susannah is timeless
Susan is retro but clever

She will spend a lot of time explaining that no, it's not Susan. No, it's not Susannah. That it's one z and two ns (even though it's right.there.in.the.email)

Yes this is me, having to spell it out every time. Sorry Op but it's an ugly name. I'm just glad it's my middle name and my first name is really beautiful.

Maddy70 · 15/09/2023 00:16

I love it. It's having a resurgence I'm in a country where it is more common but I love the way it sounds. Its classic

NerdyBird · 15/09/2023 00:12

DramaAlpaca · 15/09/2023 00:04

I wouldn't describe Suzanne as 'cute' but then I don't see cute as a desirable attribute in a name for either girls or boys. I do think it's dated though.

As others have said, I prefer Susannah. There's something more timeless about it.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 14/09/2023 23:48

I know a 34 year old Suzanne.
Susannah is pretty.

TLDRfuckers · 14/09/2023 21:55

Suzanne is fabulous. Be a trendsetter!

Avastmehearties · 14/09/2023 21:53

It's pretty cool and refreshing though in itself. I wouldn't be afraid to be ahead of the curve. It'll be Linda, Barbara, Marion and Pamela's era then Deborah, Suzanne, Joanne and Sharon. All beautiful when you look at them afresh so pick the one you love.

Avastmehearties · 14/09/2023 21:51

I much prefer Susannah

SkaneTos · 14/09/2023 21:47

Suzanne is a beautiful and classic name!

menopausalmare · 14/09/2023 20:56

I like it. A lot of names at school are very samey samey, lots of -ia and -ee endings. It's different but not weird different.

KirstenBlest · 14/09/2023 20:51

Leonard Cohen

Magicshoppingtrolley · 14/09/2023 20:44

I love it!! Definitely due for a revival

Notellinganyone · 14/09/2023 20:42

Susannah is much nicer.

GodDammitCecil · 14/09/2023 20:40

There’s something about Zs and Xs (Suzanne, Roxanne, etc) that makes me think some people in the 60s and 70s thought they were being really zany and keraaaay-zy, using these ‘out there’ names.

If you like it, go for it. It sounds refreshing compared with all the usual popular names.

And what’s more, you’re probably ahead of the curve, so once your DC gets to teens / 20s, they will have a fresh, current sounding name, instead of the tired old usual (I speak from experience on this - thanks Mum and Dad!).

NomenNudum · 14/09/2023 20:29

Thanks everyone. I rather love it but it seems it might be a wee bit too far ahead of the curve.

Susannah is vintage and charming. Susan is no-nonsense and chic. Suzanne is hopelessly dated.

In short: please no, I'm not ready for this 😆

continentallentil · 14/09/2023 20:00

…. But if you want something sharper I think the mid century Susan will be back before long

continentallentil · 14/09/2023 19:59

It’s quite dated and too early for a revival - like Mandy or something

Susannah is lovely though

weeRagamuffin · 14/09/2023 19:20

I prefer 60s Susan to 1970s Suzanne
Susie is cute.
