I love this name for a girl, having doubt if I'm brave enough to be different or in fact cool enough. Aside from the obvious unisex debates, what do you think of the name Drew?

I like it. I'd consider it completely unisex.

I know someone called Dru, short for Drusilla.

UsingChangeofName · 09/09/2023 00:12

I was going to say not keen for a stand alone, but if you are in Scotland, then Drew is more frequently used as a shortening for Andrew.

When I got to the bit about 'for a girl', it became a 'no' from me.

TheMountainsCall · 09/09/2023 00:09

It's not my own style but I have known a Drew and she was a very interesting person. I think it's okay for girls. I don't like it for a boy.

Love it for a girl

I know just as many girls named Drew as boys! I am in America though, from what I hear neutral/masculine/surnames on girls is much more prevalent here.

It's used more for boys in the UK.

clpsmum · 08/09/2023 23:14

I like it and much prefer it for a girl x

Gorgeous name!

Daisybuttercup12345 · 08/09/2023 22:32

Drew Barry more.
Really dislike it.

Toddlerteaplease · 07/09/2023 05:18

Awful for a boy. Even worse for a girl!

bleuclair · 07/09/2023 05:16

Agree that it's better as short for Andrew.

bleuclair · 07/09/2023 05:15

It's predominantly used for boys so you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a boy. Or surname. It's quite an ugly name, IMO.

HappiDaze · 07/09/2023 02:17

I think it's a cute name but that's probably because I associate it with Drew Barrymore when she was in ET

Beeswood · 07/09/2023 01:49

No, I thought you meant it for a boy.

mayorofcasterbridge · 07/09/2023 01:25

No.

CallieQ · 07/09/2023 01:24

Noooo

jellytots18 · 07/09/2023 00:55

Love! Xx

Theoldwoman · 07/09/2023 00:12

Not a fan for either sex. It’s not about being cool naming a girl this, it’s about choosing a name they will love right through out their life.

continentallentil · 06/09/2023 23:08

It’s a bit cheesy 80/90s American like Shelby, Brooke, Sloane

It’s not the worst, just not great.

Even on a bit I only really like it short for Andrew

GameofPhones · 06/09/2023 23:02

My aunt was called Dru, short for Drusilla.

EconomyClassRockstar · 06/09/2023 21:10

I've always loved the name Drew for both girls and boys but it sounded stupid with our surname.

soundsys · 06/09/2023 21:05

I met a 3yo Drew today and thought it was very cool!

ArcticBells · 06/09/2023 21:03

Great name for a boy but short for Andrew. Don't like it for a girl

SkaneTos · 06/09/2023 21:02

I think it's a great name for a girl! Very pretty.

KirstenBlest · 06/09/2023 16:07

I wouldn't use it in Wales. Too close to the Welsh word for stink
