Traditional girls names - alternatives to Elizabeth

SunnyDaisies · 04/09/2023 15:32

We am looking for baby girl name ideas as we are currently expecting number 3 and are now really stuck!

I love traditional names that can be shortened to sweet nicknames, especially nicknames that end in an -ie or -y sound.

Absolutely love, but can’t use:
Annabel (or any name shortening to Annie)
Elizabeth - already close relatives with these names

Your ideas will be gratefully accepted!

Thank you so much everyone! Also really love Alexandra.
I like the idea of a different nickname for Elizabeth too - some really sweet suggestions here for ideas.

Could you have Eliza/Elisa/Elise as a variation on Elizabeth?

CobraChicken · 04/09/2023 22:16

I know it doesn't fit your nickname criteria, but a friend's daughter is called Bethany and that's all anyone ever calls her (so you still get the "ee" ending.) I really love her name.

MoralOrLegal · 04/09/2023 22:07

We have a Katharine. The only problem is that it can be spelled many, many, ways.

continentallentil · 04/09/2023 22:05
