Hi all currently 26 weeks pregnant with my 4th.

we have been thinking of the name jahmaya.

Dd- jahnay
Dd- jahniya
Ds- josiah.

We are known as the j family as both my self and hubby both begin with J 😊😊

What do you think and how would you spell it?

Thanks In advance

Janiyah and Jamaya are pronounced the same bar the M and N I’m guessing? If so that’s way too close I think. Be hard to tell who anyone is talking about/calling.

Joelle? Would suggest Janelle but again think that’s too close to your eldest.

It’s nice enough as is but really similar to her sisters names which are already very close.

What about Jamelia? Janelle?

I can see why you’d want it to fit in with the others so she’s not the odd one out, but there’s a balance to be had to make it a bit more unique for her.

Way too similar to your other daughters’ names.

Our neighbours rued the day they called two of their children Jude and Luke because all that was audible when shouted from a distance was the ‘oooh’ sound, which meant each child could assume it was the other and both usually ignored it.

Dd- jahnay. Is it said as Jannay?
Dd- jahniya Jan-eye-ah?
Ds- josiah. Jos-eye-ah

Jamaya - like Jamaica without the c?

Are they names from your culture? If so, what is the traditional spelling?

I wouldn't use a name that's so close to her sisters poor things have basically got the same name with a few letters changed.

There's thousands of names beginning with 'j' that will give her, her own identity without making her seem like part of a set.

This is also what I think

Jamaya or Jamia or Jamaia depending on how you want it pronounced

Ja-may-a = Jamaya

Ja-mee-a= Jamia

Jam-ai (as in high) -a - Jamaia

I would rethink and give them a name that is not so close to the other children.
