We love this name and know v few but I wonder whether others so. If you know them are they in England or is it more an international popularity?

any opinions on the name also welcome.

It's a lovely name
It was in my top 3 for DD's

oldnorsesaga · 04/09/2023 10:25

I only known Nikolina nn Nina. Quite common here, but I'm not English

CassiniG · 04/09/2023 10:24

It's a lovely, pretty name and so is the song Nina, pretty ballerina.

I’ve only known it as no abbreviation of Georgina.

Ohmylovejune · 04/09/2023 10:22

I know a Christina known as Nina. Love it

goldennavy · 04/09/2023 10:21

1 and love it

FayCarew · 04/09/2023 10:20

I like it. I don't know any under 30

gravitytester · 04/09/2023 09:52

My cousin is Nina (Janina), it's a super common name/nickname in Germany. She's 20.

I know of 4/5 'Nina' girls through work (all under 10), and I know a Georgina how goes buy it.

samuelclemens · 04/09/2023 09:49

I knew one years ago whose full name was Georgina. It’s a lovely name in its own right though.

CoteDOpale · 04/09/2023 09:47

I knew 1, lost contact but I believe she’d be about 29 now.

@Tinybrother "don’t let the popularity of a name put you off though"

Are you saying that because you know 4 Ninas it's a popular name?

No I wasn’t, and that seems like a rather unnecessarily antagonistic response to a baby names thread first thing on a Monday morning. The OP used the word popularity, so I was giving my POV on people’s reluctance to use “popular” names if that is the OP’s concern. Maybe it isn’t her concern, I don’t know.

Koalawhala · 04/09/2023 08:44

Lovely name. I know of only one at our DD’s school

thdskdrggs · 04/09/2023 08:41

To me it's fit in with the Sarahs/Louises/Emmas/Rachels, due a comeback eventually, but you may be a bit early. But it's a perfectly inoffensive name.

SunnieShine · 04/09/2023 08:19

I love it.

Daddylonglegs123 · 04/09/2023 08:05

I have only ever known one and she was a bit older than me but totally cool and quirky love the name.

Look up Nina Proudman a character in an Australian TV programme Offspring also very cool and loveable after the first couple of episodes when it starts to get going.

StoatofDisarray · 04/09/2023 07:48

I only know one: she's my cleaner and I think she's under 30! She's very nice.

BanditHeelerismyhero · 04/09/2023 07:46

Oh I love it. Gorgeous name
I only know one and she is mid forties and just the epitome of cool and edgy, with a great job and family.

SoupDragon · 04/09/2023 07:45

I like it. I know 2 - both teenagers.

RoachFish · 04/09/2023 07:34

It's a lovely name. I only know people in their 40s and 70s called Nina. I also like Mia, but that might be more common.

ClemmyTine · 04/09/2023 07:29

I know 3.
2 over 50 and 1 early twenties.

SheilaFentiman · 04/09/2023 07:26

I love it, was in the list if either of mine had been girls!

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 04/09/2023 07:24

I like it and know two, both aged under ten. One is English, the other is English/German.

anon2022anon · 04/09/2023 07:18

One aged 2/3, and one aged 25-30ish.
