Middle name for Arlo?

Baby boy due any day, we are set on Arlo but stumped as to a middle name. Any ideas?

I will admit my first thought was James too 😅

Since that's a no goer how about something a bit longer? Julian? Benjamin?Maxwell?

I'd think about what overall impression you want the name to have - traditional? trendy? Biblical? strong? To reflect a cultural background (e.g. Scottish, Welsh etc)? Unusual?

Thanks all, some great suggestions here. There isn’t really a family name that works. We used that one with my DS1. Arlo James is lovely but James is the name of an ex, so not sure about that one!

James as a middle name is the boy equivalent of Rose/Grace/May.

You don’t need a middle name. If there isn’t a family or special name you want to use, why not just leave it out?

I think something longer is better, but it depends a bit on your surname. Any family names that might work?

Something starting with an M, so you get the AM combination, showing that he's driven. Then mix the traditional name of Arlo with something more "exotic" maybe Miguel, Muhammed, Matteus, etc.

Check the initials - he won't thank you if they make ASS, APE or ARS.

I love the name James but it's a bit overused as a middle name. I'd pick a family name or a name that you like but aren't keen on if it's shortened - something like Patrick, Francis or Nathaniel

Check there isn't someone famous/notorious with that name OP. Maybe that's why we're all thinking it.
