What name from our list and what do you think of them

We are trying to name our soon to be born baby boy and struggling

Our list is

  1. Diego
  2. Gabriel
  3. Bruno
  4. Mateo
  5. David

Which is your favourite or ranking order?

In order of preference (from best to worst)

Mateo
Gabriel
David
Bruno
Diego

I like the first three, I dislike the last two

as a pp suggested it can be shortened to Matt/matty etc
we chose our baby’s name because it could be shorted if wanted to. I’ve always liked that my name could be shortened so wanted the same for our baby.

but Mateo is lovely 🥰

Matteo is Italian spelling Smile

Thanks very much, we did think Gabriel would maybe work best here. Same for David but realise it's a bit dated here. Just not sure if we wanted something a bit more obviously Spanish

Surprised how many dogs here are Bruno, big shame! Diego was a name I thought I'd always use for a boy

Diego - no.

  1. Gabriel - lovely.
  2. Bruno - no. Woof Woof!
  3. Mateo - lovely. Prefer Matteo after the lovely Matteo Salvini.
  4. David - lovely. My daughter when small had a lovely children's book called 'No David, no!'

Mateo seems a great choice. If he ends up wanting to fit in he more he can go by Matt, for instance, but also has the option for something that stands out.
