Variation of Karen for a boy

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and my mum died unexpectedly 4 weeks ago. Her name was Karen and me and husband would LOVE to honour her as our babies middle name but he's a boy.

Does anyone have any ideas how we can make a more masculine version of Karen?

I know a male Karan. It's an Indian boy's name.

Sorry for your loss.

ohcrums · 24/08/2023 20:44

Narek is a name

DieDeutschLehrerin · 24/08/2023 20:44

There's Carwyn in Welsh - it's not the same name but the pronunciation is similar. Means "blessed love". It isn't the same but it might still be a nice tribute. I hope you find something which suits. Sorry for your loss.

We've thought about her maiden and middle name but neither work unfortunately.

Thanks for the suggestions! Gives me quite a few to chat to my husband about.

I've thought of one.
Karen -> Katherine -> Kitty -> Kit -> Christopher

That's a bit of a reach

Rummykitten · 24/08/2023 20:42

Karan is apparently a male name of Indian origin (Sanskrit). It means “clever, skilful”.

I am sorry for your loss 💐

I’d go with Kane

Karran, Curren - but both sort of miss the point

Neverseenbefore · 24/08/2023 20:35

An anagram?
Krane?
Kearn?

Kary

Karen already is a male name in some countries -quite a common one as well. Armenia, for example, and Iran. I think you could use it as it is.
