Hello

We're due with our second girl in a few months, I've been through so many thousands of name lists and I just can't find "the one". My top favourite is Linnea but we have an unusual last name so I'm worried about giving her two names she has to spell and tell people how to pronounce for her entire life. My husband loves Clara but it's not sitting right with me. I've tried all the obvious variations I can think of like Lara, Cara, Lily of etc but again none of them feel right. Any suggestions would be gratefully received! We did tend to lean towards the old classics like Victoria and Charlotte before those two floated to the front if that helps! Many thanks!

Loads of names here that are lovely but the same issue as the original name of needing to be spelled out.

As someone with an uncommon first and surname in the UK thank you for thinking about it. You get used to it but it takes time and is boring,

I know any name can need spelling however common, but some almost always will need it. Purely on that criterion
Anna, Helen, Bethany
Some that would be easy but might need similar to with a y/without an eAnne/Ann, Jayne/Jane Helen/Helena Lynn/Lynne,

I also thought of the brand Linea 🤣, so it would be a no from me for that reason. Leona is a lovely name and goes very nicely with Phoebe.

Pronounced Linny

I came here to say exactly this!! I love Linnhe.

Know someone called Linda who goes by Linny.

Linnea and Clara.
If you like both of those then consider Clea, like the Lawrence Durrell novel. It's of Greek origin I believe.

SkaneTos · 24/08/2023 22:04
