Sophisticated, elegant names

Hello everybody! I’m thinking of changing my name. I always hated my name and since I was young, I wanted to be called with other names.
I really like the name Charlotte, but I’m afraid that it would be too difficult for my Italian family to pronounce it.
Can you suggest more English elegant names?

If you like Charlotte go for it, I think it’s a beautiful name. And your Italian family can call you Carlotta which is also lovely.

Bianca, Victoria, Anna, Chloe work wonderfully in English and Italian

I always liked Caroline. It works in Italian as well as Carolina

I'm surprised no one has suggested Kathryn or Catharine, Catherine, Katharine etc. beautiful timeless name

AgnesX · 23/08/2023 18:16

Elise or Eloise (although not quintessentially English).

My daughter is called Allegra, which I believe has Italian roots, and a couple of people have commented how it's a 'sophisticated' name... (lucky accident if so, we didn't plan for that 😂)

She's been digging up daddy's vegetable patch, so is grimy from top to toe and is currently smeared with tomato pasta and raspberries, with a mouthful of blueberry pancake, so I can't say she's doing the elegance of her name much justice right now but that's the joy of being 16 months old 🤷🏻‍♀️

TBF @WaffleHouseMonstah your suggestion was not particularly elegant.

Not sure how it would translate to Italian though. Hang on...

marina?

Oh gosh yes- Gabriela- what a lovely name.

My name is uber boring IMO. And very 70s.

Charlotte is a gorgeous name. If you love it, why not?
