Not keen. Too alike .

Lorey82 · 20/08/2023 19:15

Would sound a bit silly

mathanxiety · 20/08/2023 19:11

If you like the sound of Eleanor, how about Leonore or Leonora?

GreyTones · 20/08/2023 19:11

@mathanxiety yes, Gabriella is the second name on our list actually but do prefer Eleanor

I think they're too similar.

If you like the EL sound, how about a name where it's less obvious -
Isobel
Gabrielle
Mirabel
Christobel
Annabel
Arabella
Estelle
Stella
Mabel
Delilah
Celine
Laurel
Felicity
Imelda
Madeleine

No you can’t.

AllYouOtherSlimShadys · 20/08/2023 18:34

It's fine.

My dream sibset when I was younger was Elliot and Eloise.

Neverseenbefore · 20/08/2023 18:33

I wouldn’t. They’re quite a different style as well while also being similar.

itsmyp4rty · 20/08/2023 18:33

I think they go really nicely together. I don't think Elliot would be shortened to El or Elli as they're both very girly nn so i don't think that would be a problem

chocolatecheesecake · 20/08/2023 18:30

I accidentally call my DC by each other's name from time to time and their names are completely different. So far too similar for that reason I think (assuming you or anyone else in their lives is likely to do the same). Personally I also find it useful to have names with different initials for labelling items, shorthand in comms etc.

WallaceinAnderland · 20/08/2023 18:27

It's a no from me.

You could have Elliot and Lena or similar.

RudsyFarmer · 20/08/2023 18:26

I think you can. It’s fine!

IggyAce · 20/08/2023 18:25

I’d say no.

SequinsandStiIettos · 20/08/2023 18:23

call

SequinsandStiIettos · 20/08/2023 18:23

But I mine by each other's names anyway so calling them all Ell might be the answer! Grin or El 1 El 2 Wink

SequinsandStiIettos · 20/08/2023 18:21

Don't see why not. Depends if any nn are the same. e.g. Ell/Els if other is Elle/Ellie
They are similar, sure, but I'd assume you just wanted matchy names.

OnionBhajis · 20/08/2023 18:20

No. Elli and elli.

Whattheflipflap · 20/08/2023 18:19

My sisters best friend was a Charlotte who’s brother was a charles

i also know Eleanor’s called nelly, Norah, and lena for short which might be ok
