I like it spelt either way

Better than a really common name

Toughsteak · 20/08/2023 21:44

Popular in Norway

evtheria · 20/08/2023 21:44

Axel is cool (but I also like mullets on boys!)
Axl: no.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 20/08/2023 21:43

I like it!

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 20/08/2023 21:43

Oh no, please don't. Really.

Go with Slash. Much better.

Runnerinthenight · 20/08/2023 21:40

Just don't!!

viques · 20/08/2023 21:38

No.

1 not a name

2 people will assume you can’t spell

3 people will assume your child can’t spell its own name

Happyandyoudontknowit · 20/08/2023 21:36

No

OhChacha · 20/08/2023 14:02

For a dog lovely. For a child no

Peony654 · 20/08/2023 13:21

Axel is fine. Don’t ruin your child’s life with an unusual spelling

Fivebeanchilli · 20/08/2023 13:18

Axel is ok if a bit dull.
Axl is silly - you just look like Guns n Roses fan who doesn't know why he picked his name!

AlwaysJumping · 20/08/2023 13:03

I like it! However you spell it. Axl or Axl

indyocean · 20/08/2023 13:01

As name for your new pet snake?

Fab! It's a good one 🐍

DustyLee123 · 20/08/2023 07:35

I like Axel better than Axl.

thatsn0tmyname · 20/08/2023 07:34

I know of two Axel's, both Indian heritage.
I also had no idea that Axl Rose was an anagram of oral sex.

stonedaisy · 20/08/2023 07:27

We have an Aksel in the family

user1492757084 · 20/08/2023 06:57

Axl looks misspelt.
Though would match his sisters, Weelie and Engina

lljkk · 19/08/2023 23:52

I can summon ... zero opinion. It's fine. And fine if you don't.

albapunk · 19/08/2023 23:48

Hedjwitch · 19/08/2023 20:31

I know a new baby Axl. Scotland

Me too! Spooky!

Sorry OP. I don't like it at all.

Kitcaterpillar · 19/08/2023 23:46

CremeEggThief · 19/08/2023 13:42

As much as being a groupie for Axl Rose was my teenage dream, no!

If you are really keen, Axel is occasionally used in Scandinavia.

If you take 'occasionally' to mean that Axel* is consistently in the top 10-20 names in the region, then yes, it's used occasionally in Scandinavia.

*And regional spelling variants

PleaseGiveMeBackMySummer · 19/08/2023 23:39

No.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 19/08/2023 23:38

Awful!!!

Hedjwitch · 19/08/2023 20:31

I know a new baby Axl. Scotland

LooselyBasedOnAMadeUpStory · 19/08/2023 19:46

Axl looks like you can’t spell.

continentallentil · 19/08/2023 19:44
