This is our short list, time is running out.

Which do you like best? Any downsides we haven't thought of?

If we like those, what other names should we consider?

I think OP may have had her baby by now as she said time was running out in August....

Pemba · 22/01/2024 08:34

They are all good names, my favourite is Zoe, it's lovely. I also really like Claudia and Emily.

Lily is pretty but has been overused in recent years.

Sian is a strong name, but perhaps a bit minimalist?

resm · 21/01/2024 22:55

Claudia or Lily. I met a baby Claudia the other day and thought it was so refreshing to hear on a wee one year old.

username268 · 21/01/2024 22:38

I love Siân. It's such a pretty name.
Lily is a close second.

user1492757084 · 19/01/2024 09:24

All are nice names.
My faves are Zoe and Claudia

Also I like Clodagh.
Do you like Leonor?

CharlieBoo · 18/01/2024 22:45

Claudia - really like

Emily - nice, classic, pretty

Lily- bland, so overused, will be this generations Louise

Zoe - not keen

Sian - not to my taste but ok

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 18/01/2024 22:04

Like them all apart from Claudia and Zoe

ThatWhiteElephant · 18/01/2024 21:45

I like Zoë the best from your list.

KirstenBlest · 18/01/2024 17:58

Sian is not nice Siân in a Welsh accent is lovely. I'm not keen on it in a non-Welsh accent. It needs the circumflex.

marshmallowfinder · 18/01/2024 17:55

I also don't like the 'claw' sound in Claudia.

marshmallowfinder · 18/01/2024 17:54

Zoë is nice. Sian is not nice. The others are very dull!

octoberfarm · 18/01/2024 17:40

I really like Lily. What about Erin or Wren?

sunflowerpinks · 18/01/2024 13:25

And apparently the Claudia meaning lame thing is actually a very commonly repeated mistake.

What Confused? It's definitely not a mistake!

sunflowerpinks · 18/01/2024 13:24

The meaning of Claudia puts me off. It's such a strong association - the Latin word for crippled/lame is claudus/clauda/claudum so for anyone who's studied Latin, it's really not a great choice!

toastofthetown · 18/01/2024 11:28

Claudia is by far my favourite from your list. It’s well known, historical, but not overdone. Emily and Lily are so saturated in the population. They’re inoffensive but extremely dull. Zoe and Sian seem a bit dated to me. I had lots of Zoes and Sians around my age (thirties) at school, and don’t know young ones. Both have fallen out of the top hundred since the late 90s, so feel more like names I’d expect a new mum to have, rather than her baby.

itsannie86 · 18/01/2024 11:21

Claudia - I personally don't like this name.
Emily - classic, cannot go wrong
Lily - nice, cannot go wrong again but maybe a bit generic whereas Emily is popular but a 'stronger' name in my opinion
Zoe - don't like it, personally
Sian - really like!

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 17/01/2024 03:20

Emily is my favourite from your list. I’m Welsh and Siân is my middle name. I do like it but not spelled Sian without the circumflex. That would completely change the pronunciation and people spell it like that all the time. If it was my first name I could see it being really annoying.

Nadal1966 · 17/01/2024 02:52

Zoe I am not keen, and reminds me of gìrls names at school, so see,s a bit outdated.. Emma is popular, but I like Emma and quite timeless.
SIan is unusual and not an popular name , like in the tòp 20, but perhaps this is a good ìdea.
Lily is mice, but overused
Claud, not keen , but think of Claudia Wiñkĺeman, and I like her a d her SIH.

Jemimapinotduck · 18/08/2023 19:25

My name is Sian, I love it! 😍

shoopshoopdedoo · 18/08/2023 16:41

I love Zoe, Emily, Lily and also PP’s suggestion of Chloe. Sian is OK. Not keen on Claudia.

KnickerlessParsons · 18/08/2023 10:22

Zoë or Siân, spelled like that, or Claudia

TetrapanaxRex · 18/08/2023 09:54

I love Claudia and Sian.

Willmafrockfit · 18/08/2023 09:50

dont be put off by the meaning for Claudia
it is the best name in your list.
followed by Zoe

neither of them are overly popular

KirstenBlest · 18/08/2023 09:48

Chloe was massively popular about 25 years ago. (9628 registered in 1998). I know loads of them.

Daffodilwoman · 18/08/2023 09:17

Claudia is my favourite.
