Rank my Baby boy names

It’s just over 2 weeks until we find out the gender of this little one but I like to be organised and know a name early on.

I like soft and gentle sounding boys names if that makes sense. For some reason I also really seem to like names with the letter “O” in them somewhere.

So far my boy names are…

Arlo (partner really likes this and is hard to please when it comes to names but I’m not sure)
Oscar
Theodore (Theo/Teddy)
Matthew
Noah (not convinced yet)
Ralph
Heath
Harry

Can you think of anymore along these lines that you think I’d like?

My daughter is Molly 💕

Arlo -A bit "arty" for me.
Oscar - there are so many already.
Theodore (Theo/Teddy) - ok. Molly and Theo goes together.
Matthew - I like this name but it's an awkward alliteration with Molly.
Noah (not convinced yet) - Ok.
Ralph - no. No!
Heath - I get Heath Ledger vibes. So sad what happened to him.
Harry - Prince Harry. Erring on no.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 16/08/2023 22:53

Ralph - if you haven't already, read a Judy Blume book called forever and this will always be a no!

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 16/08/2023 22:52

Theo but I like Leo more

SaturdayGiraffe · 16/08/2023 22:33

Typo* Harlan

SaturdayGiraffe · 16/08/2023 22:32

Heath - love it, knew one growing up.
Matthew - classic for a reason
Ralph - solid, nice
Harry - very popular, classic
Noah - v popular
Theodore etc - v popular
Oscar - v popular
Arlo - I think this has peaked

Suggestion: Harlen

User6761 · 16/08/2023 22:26

Love Matthew.

If you like 'O' names - Ivo, Otto, Jago, Sholto

Firefighter22 · 16/08/2023 22:18

I like Ralph and Heath best. Other ideas -
Leo
Robert
Oliver
Alastair
Owen
Orin

ShitImPregnant · 16/08/2023 22:12

Roscoe? Reminds me of Oscar but much less popular.

Comedycook · 16/08/2023 22:09

Arlo. Dislike a lot. Very popular right now and will date terribly

Oscar never liked this name.

Theodore (Theo/Teddy). Love it

Matthew. A classic but a bit dull

Noah extremely popular...I'm not a fan

Ralph. Awesome...best of the lot

Heath. Quite nice

Harry. A very safe but dull choice

uncomfortablydumb53 · 16/08/2023 22:05

I know siblings Molly and Thomas
(Which conveniently also contains o)

theysaiditgetseasier · 16/08/2023 22:04

Not keen on any of them 😖
Josh with Molly sounds nice

PickledScrump · 16/08/2023 22:01

Arlo- bit of a faddy name
Oscar- nice
Theodore- too popular
Matthew- good strong name, classic and not overused, the matching initials would put me off
Noah- not keen
Ralph- ok
Heath- not great
Harry- had a major peak 10-15 years ago now

Out of your list Oscar is the best, personally I think Jacob goes really nicely with Molly.

OopsieeDaisy · 16/08/2023 21:50

I love Oscar and it goes nicely with Molly. Not too keen on the others but I like Joseph, Jacob and George mentioned by pp.

Beautifulsunflowers · 16/08/2023 21:44

I was going to say Oliver but you can’t have a molly and an olly!

Other names with O in them……
Thomas
Victor
Timothy
Joel
Jacob
Joseph
George
Toby/Tobias
Robert/Robbie

Im not personally keen on Arlo - it seems like a teletubbie name to me!! Sorry op!

Birdiboo · 16/08/2023 21:42

@Hellocatshome funny you should say that about Oscar as my partner did actually have a cat called this when he was very little 🤣 but I like it anyway

I also like Otto and Milo but he doesn’t.

and also Harvey!

Molly and Ralph sounds lovely together. I like Arlo and Oscar too. Not keen on Matthew and Theo is very common now.

Hellocatshome · 16/08/2023 21:39

Arlo - I really like it but it is a marmite name and if you aren't sure I wouldn't use it
Oscar - very popular name but to me its a cats name
Theodore (Theo/Teddy) - loads of these about I'm not keen
Matthew - boring
Noah (not convinced yet) - no its had its time
Ralph - no
Heath - no
Harry - I like Harry but prefer Henry
