It sounds a bit odd. It wouldn’t be my choice.

Carouselfish · 17/08/2023 15:41

Or go for next letter along as first dc is an A
Beatrice Adams
Betsy Adams
Etc

I like it.

@SylvanianFrenemies, because there is a tendency to slip in an r sound between two vowel sounds. (intrusive r)
If you listen to someone talking about e.g. Nicola Adams or Jessica Ennis, they say the names as Nicoluh Radams and Jessicuh Rennis.

pronunciation - Why do British people pronounce "idea" with an "r" sound at the end? - English Language & Usage Stack Exchange

I see your thinking. I think this is limited to a few non-rhotic South of England/North American accents but I guess relevant if the OP lives in these places.

DinnaeFashYersel · 17/08/2023 12:43

Not a great idea

I was coming on to say similar! Then she can marry a Harry 😁

😃

Tara24 · 16/08/2023 06:41

Or Adeline Adams? She could be Ada or Addy for short .

Tara24 · 16/08/2023 06:39

I like it.

It's only when it's written that you see the ADA twice. But, so what?

If you're not sure though , how about Avis Adams?

Elspethelf · 16/08/2023 06:36

I quite like the way it sounds

There are better names. How about Victoria, Amy, Geri, Nicola, Morticia or Wednesday?

Gremlins101 · 15/08/2023 21:00

I quite like it, and I think if you hadn't asked, I never would have questioned it. It's very cute sounding.

I love that some people think 'superhero' and some think 'barmaid'. There's no point asking, the vote is split.

Winnipeggy · 15/08/2023 20:51

I like it

Daphnis156 · 15/08/2023 20:43

Ada Adams- NO!
Sounds like a barmaid in a very low public house, or a fat old lady with curlers in her hair, and a fag hanging from her lips drinking neat gin.
