Girl version for Joseph

Busted2006 · 12/08/2023 18:55

We want to use a girl version for Joseph as my DD middle name.

All I can think of is Josephine and Josie.

I don't love Josephine and Josie doesn't work with the 1st name we have chosen which is Rosa.

Help!!!

I absolutely LOVE the sound of Rosa Josephine but if you don't, I like the previous idea of -

Rosa Seraphine

Rosa as a first name is stunning!

Using the seph part,

Rosa Seraphine
Rosa Persephone

Rosa Jolie
Rosa Josepha

Joelle is a lovely name.
However if I was e.g. gran and you said it was after my dead husband Joseph I wouldn't see the connection.

So I still think do it properly or not at all (or keep the tenuous link to yourselves).

I think Rosa Joelle sounds nice and if the person you are honouring was sometimes known as Joe then it is clearly a feminine version of that.

I thought of Joelle earlier.

I quite like this one, has a lovely meaning too

Rosa Jo sounds nice if you don't like the sound of Josephine

I love Josette

Joanna - technically it’s a feminine of John not Joseph but doesn’t really matter

Choux · 12/08/2023 22:19

Josephina or Mary?

Main article: Josephine (name)

Rosa Zefina sounds pretty

CremeEggThief · 12/08/2023 21:15

IMO, I don't think any version of Joseph works with Rose or Rosa, as the middle vowel sounds are too similar. I think your only way around it is a previous suggestion of having a first middle name between Rosa and Josephine.
