From a Reddit post, not my own.

"While on holidays, I passed by an exposition of portrait from a holiday kids club and couldn't help to write their cute names. It was a club from 4 to 7 and 8 to 12 years old."

This is no longer true and hasn't been for over 20 years

It is the case in Czech Republic though.

Mohammed (f)

I don't think so.

Were they quite well to do kids?. Some of them seem quite high class names, although I'm out of touch with what's current for kids.
How is Kaëlye pronounced?

Actually, I know how to pronounce Gaël, so I guess that answers my question

HappiDaze · 13/08/2023 19:27

@Roseau18

Oh well it was a fun fact that this was the case 20 years ago then

The person who posted that on reddit has a lot of spare time, to have stood next to a kids holiday club, typing out all of those names!

Devices turn the photographed writing into typed words on a Word Doc etc

You don't need to type it yourself

Fun fact

In France you have to choose your DC name from an official list to register them

You can't choose any old name like here in the UK

French names have changed a bit since my day!
My peers were
Virginie
Sandrine
Noëlle
Anne-Laure
Nathalie
Françoise
Guillaume
Jean-Pierre
Jean-Paul
Etienne
Patrick
Cyrile

And so on in that ilk.

spilltheteapot · 13/08/2023 19:05

I think Florent (m) and Manon (f) are great names. Lots of lovely names on the list but those stick out for me.
Thanks for posting.

frnames · 13/08/2023 19:02

Bumping. No interest? I thought there would be for rare but current French names!
