H H Alliteration!

So me and my wife are due soon, and we have only just agreed on a couple of boy names!…

Our favourite being 'Harris' or 'Harrison', paired with Horne as a surname;
So full name would be Harris(son) Frederick Horne.

I prefer Harris as its sharper… but that could be the shortened version?
Also worry about the syllables, and the complete name sounding like Harrisorne / Harrison!?

Can’t decide if it’s clashing, or works? Any advice welcome... Or it’s back to the drawing board!

I’m sorry but your surname is terrible. You need to find a strong completely separate first name to go with it and certainly not a double H or something that blends into it.

Busubaba · 11/08/2023 21:45

Harrison Horne sounds okay.

Harris Horne, has a slight air of Cockney rhyming slang about it.

Harris Horne/Arris Orne - Porn.

Sorry.

caringcarer · 11/08/2023 21:19

List of names of famous Hornes

Honey Horne is definitely too strippery.

DuchessOfSausage · 11/08/2023 21:03

Hugo Horne is too close to 'ugo Home

FisherThem · 11/08/2023 17:52

Harris Horn sounds like a breed of sheep.

"Oh, that Harris Horn's got a beautiful rump on him...."

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 11/08/2023 17:25

I came onto say far right associations too. Avoid!

MerryMarigold · 11/08/2023 17:24

I love Harrison Horne. It's very musical sounding with the 3 syllables then one. It sounds like a character in a nostalgic kids book I think, but in a good way.

Jyas · 11/08/2023 17:23

I associate HH with ‘heil hitler’ I’m afraid, but I’m German…might not be what British people think of.

ColonelSpondleClagnut · 11/08/2023 17:17

Ooh I like Howard and Hugo

Definitely not Harris

Henry nn Harry is good too.

NoTeaNoShade · 11/08/2023 17:12

I do sound like a cartoon character tbf

HauntedPencil · 11/08/2023 17:10

NoTeaNoShade · 11/08/2023 17:08

I'm an HH (married) had no idea there were far right connotations 😳

I think as long as you avoid Adolf your golden!

Fred Horne is nice too.

Fred Harrison Horne?

HauntedPencil · 11/08/2023 17:01

DancingLedgend · 11/08/2023 16:37

Really, really, don't give them HH as initials.
Far right dog whistle.

This would even cross the vast vast vast majority of people's minds

HauntedPencil · 11/08/2023 17:00

I don't mind H H but Harris Horne isn't great:

What about Henry Horne

Harry Horne.

I think they are a bit better

PurplePeopleEaterParty · 11/08/2023 16:39

I like alliteration but I don't like Harrison Horne or Harris Horne (sorry). They just don't sound very nice.

Other H names might be OK, but Harris and Harrison just don't mesh well with your surname imo

DancingLedgend · 11/08/2023 16:37

Harris means arse around these parts and Harris Horne sounds a bit sexual 😱

😂

sparklefresh · 11/08/2023 16:32

Just be aware that some far right groups have an affiliation with the initials HH (for heil hitler).

BarbaraV · 11/08/2023 16:31

TaigaSno · 11/08/2023 16:29

Double letter alliteration can work, but in this case both Harris nor Harrison sort of merge into one long name.

Howard Horne?
Hugo Horne?
Lewis Horne?
Ellis Horne?
