We need a boys name! Not too plain and personally I like slightly longer names although it doesn't have to be. Potentials on the list currently include Barnaby, Rafferty, Montgomery and Hector.

Any suggestions?! Surname is 4 syllables and begins with a vowel so makes it a bit tricky.

We have a Huxley which I think goes nice with Beatrix 😊 also the shortened Hux and Bea sounds cute!
Out of your suggestions though I think Rafferty, the nick name of Raffi is so cute!

I love the name Tholly (old cornish name) I've only ever heard it once many years ago but alas, we had 2 girls!
Jago, Jory, Kenver, Locryn, Perran are also old cornish names that are rarely used now.

EastCoastDamsel · 12/08/2023 18:13

We have a Jacob and a Beatrix....

AutumnColour89 · 12/08/2023 14:12

Dominic
Alexander
Hugo is such a cute yet still grown up name

Hector may well have been a famous Greek, but yeah in English it means to bait and harass someone cruelly.
So I'd avoid that one for your lovely little one, OP.

Oops lots of you got there before me.

Then your third child can be Hero - it’s a name for a girl but I’m sure could be given to a boy ….

Swearwolf · 12/08/2023 12:27

I think it goes nicely with Asher.

FarEast · 12/08/2023 12:27

Benedick or Benedict

😎

Twazique · 12/08/2023 12:26

Hector was a Greek hero.

Some talk of Alexander,
And some of Hercules
Of Hector and Lysander,
And such great names as these.

AllAtSea53 · 12/08/2023 12:13

My cousin and partner named their baby Hector. It seems popular on here butas a word it doesn't have a very nice definition;

"to behave in an arrogant or intimidating way : to play the bully" 😕

SJC03 · 12/08/2023 11:21

We have a Sebastian, shorten to Sebby when younger, now he wants to be called Seb! X

I like Hector. And also Rupert. Bear with me, I think it is losing its hooray associations.

Augustus is one of my favourite names
