Thoughts? DH thinks dated but I'm really liking it at the moment...

I like it. It doesn't sound dated to me, l only know one another Jodie.

SemperIdem · 07/08/2023 21:30

I really don’t like it.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 07/08/2023 21:20

I love it and I met a little one month old with the name this week

FoodFann · 07/08/2023 21:11

Dated, and chavvy

ShoesoftheWorld · 07/08/2023 11:00

I prefer Josie.

Interesting how mixed the replies are.

Gcsunnyside23 · 07/08/2023 10:55

Jodie is much nicer than Josie. The only Josie's I know are old men/women. I only know one Jodie and I thought was nice as not many used it but not too different where it stands out

user1492757084 · 07/08/2023 10:49

Jodie is dated but it is a nice name.

Strugglingtodomybest · 07/08/2023 10:10

I like it. I only know one Jodie and she was born in the noughties.

HalloumiHo · 07/08/2023 10:10

Amityville...🤭

BritInAus · 07/08/2023 10:07

Definitely 80s/90s. It would be like having a baby Gemma.

Blossomandbee · 07/08/2023 09:58

It's a little dated but if I heard it I would think it's nice to hear an unusual name.
I've known a few Jodie's over the years and they've all been really nice, funny people.

Somanycats · 07/08/2023 09:53

I like it and it has never been well enough used to belong to a particular era.

CommaChameleon7 · 07/08/2023 09:50

I really like it

MoonLion · 07/08/2023 09:47

I really like it (prefer it to Josie).

continentallentil · 07/08/2023 09:46

It’s very 90s but mainly I just don’t like it - IMO it’s kind of ugly and has no history as a full name

It’s OK as a nn for Joanna or Josephine though, so maybe do that so she has options

passthesugar · 07/08/2023 03:38

My best friend growing up was Jodie and yes, it was the 80s. But still a cool name and definitely underused

jods19 · 07/08/2023 03:17

Hey that's mine name 👋 cool kids 😺

I love my name as it's not something you hear of every day, I know very and I mean very limited people with the same name as me

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 07/08/2023 03:07

Josephine and call her Jodi.

My uni flatmate born 1962 was called Jodi; it's not a modern name.

IAmKenough · 06/08/2023 21:27

Going against the grain here but I think it's cooler than Josie. Jodie sounds like someone you'd want to be friends with.

Completely agree! Josie is so meh to me. Jodie is much cooler!

Sittingonasale · 06/08/2023 21:15

No, but only because it reminds me of my recent ex neighbour in her 50s. Entitled, childish so and so with 5 cars and thought she park one of them permanently in front of my house. 😡

Ketzele · 06/08/2023 21:12

I really like it! Also Josie.

drpet49 · 06/08/2023 21:11

Dated and chavvy

Mouthfulofquiz · 06/08/2023 21:10

It’s very much a 1980s baby name.

midsomermurderess · 06/08/2023 21:09

It sounds like the off-spring of a west country agricultural worker.
