Where I worked at the time, all the baby boys were called Cameron and the girls were called Jade.

Early 00s I think of:-

Jack, Joshua, Charlie, Harry, Callum, Connor, Ryan, Tyler, Liam, Jamie, Daniel, Dylan, Jake, Ben(jamin), Sam(uel), Luke, Lewis, Nathan, Cameron, Bradley, Brandon, Jordan, Jayden, Aiden, Reece, Alfie

Chloe, Jessica, Sophie, Ellie, Emily, Megan, Hannah, Lauren, Georgia, Charlotte, Lucy, Caitlin, Katie, Bethany, Abbie, Amy, Rebecca, Jade, Zoe, Jasmine, Holly, Madison, Summer, Isabel, Ella, Lily, Grace

I started teacher training (for primary) in 2006 and pretty much all the kids I had on placement (between 2006-2010, so born late 90s-early 00s) had one of these names. There's so much more variety these days.

Changethetoner · 09/08/2023 21:33

Ruby, Danielle, Olivia, Katie, Amy, Joelle, Sophie, Lily, Bethany

Noah, Bailey, Lewis, Iain, Adam, Barclay, Alastair, Harry, Ben

Intersting I think Bailey is more 2010's really never heard before then in 2014/15/16 it seemed everywhere.

It's a common surname in my area and surnames are very popular as first names here.

Nobody born in the early 00s is older than 23, and I can't think of a single person in that age group with most of those names called Joanna, Danielle, Shannon,, Samantha, Kelly or Jodie.

They are much more likely to be Megan, Lily, Summer, Amelia, Sophie, Poppy or Jessica.

Like me I think pp interpreted the thread to means kids who were school age in the early 2000s so born in the 90s. Think we got it wrong!

Jamtartforme · 08/08/2023 20:05

Agree. Although Sophie seems pretty ageless.

Also multiples off Tyler, Jake and Connor at our school. I don’t know any Tyler’s that aren’t aged between 20 and 25.

Bananasplitlady · 08/08/2023 06:07

My classes in the early 00s were full of children named George, Cameron, Connor, Oscar, Emily, Chloe, Phoebe, Olivia and Isabelle/Isabella/Bella/Izzy. I had a lot of children who were known by first name and surname due to so many multiples.

Jack

Charlie multiple of all these in DS primary school or toddler groups, more variation in girls names though Aryssa/Alyssa seemed popular in our area.
