Are these girl names too dated?

Lauren, Nicole, Brooke

I quite like these names but I’m not sure if they’re too dated to use or due for a comeback. My favorite combination is Lauren Nicole. Are they too bland or dated? I Would love hear your honest feedback.

@ButtonMoonBlanketSky , would you like to have gone through school as a Barbara or Beryl? Those names were very popular in my mum's age group but would have been dated in mine.

I don't really get the dated thing. I think if it's a nice name that's all that matters. I know a 4 year old Lauren and Nicole was on my list. Brooke and Jessica are both lovely. I prefer Lorna or Laurel to Lauren.

I like them all except Brooke. Brooke, to me is a chav name. I have two friends with daughters called Lauren so I don't think it's dated.

Lauren, Nicole and Nicola are extremely dated 80s/90s names.

Jessica is pretty as is Brooke

They are all pretty names but I’d say yes they are quite dated. I grew up with a dated name. I was born in 1985 but my name was one more common in 1950’s - think something like Joyce, Barbara or Sandra. I don’t hate it but my whole life I get constant surprise from people expecting someone much older.

Not keen on Brooke.
The others are nice.
I prefer Nicola to Nicole though.

Lauren is hideous and definitely dated now. Very 80s/90s. All the ones I know of were what people would describe as “chavvy”

Nicole is ok, much better than Nicola. Not popular enough to ever be dated. Will likely get Nicky though.

Jessica is nice, not over done, not dated

Brooke is lovely. Fits with all the nature name’s currently popular but is much less common. Pretty and strong. Another that was never popular enough to be considered dated.

I like Jessica and Nicole. Prefer Laura to Lauren or like the suggestion above of Laurel. Not keen on Brooke but I don't think it sounds particularly dated.

I have a Brooke and she loves her name! She's a teenager now and enjoys being the only one in her school.

All the names are lovely though OP!

Jessica is lovely. I think Shakespeare invented it? Such a nice name.

Lauren and Nicole are a bit dated but ok. Brooke is bad.

I don’t mind Nicole. Lauren, Jessica and Brooke sound like the cast of a 90s American sitcom. When I lived in Chicago I worked in a youngish (20s and 30s) female team and we had 4 Laurens, 3 Jessicas and also 3 Jennifers. It’s the American equivalent of all the Katherines, Emmas and Sarahs. Brooke you do hear less but I just don’t like it because it reminds me of One Tree Hill and that went on wayyyy to long.

Nicole and Lauren are dated as in popular in the 90s but I don't think it's unusable just because they were popular. Not a fan of Brooke but I would pick another nature name.

My fave is Jessica as every Jessica I've met has been lovely.

Lauren Nicole sounds lovely. Jessica is a timeless name, also lovely.

I have a nine year old Lauren so no I don't think it's dated at all, Nicole is also one of my favourite names, Lauren Nicole is lovely, not as keen on Brooke or Jessica but nothing wrong with them either

Lauren - lovely name.
Nicole - do t like it. I have hated every Nicola I have ever met and Nicole is too similar.
Brooke -okish
Jessica - lovely name for a little girl and a feminine adult. Ridiculous on a woman who is a big lump and not feminine.

Not a fan of Brooke. Know heaps and they are all called Brookie.

Lauren is okay, but just reminds me of the woman on trial for the murder of her kids.

Nicole is not too bad, I do like Nicolette though.

Nicolette reminds me of Nicorette. Sorry!

We know an age 6 Nicole and an age 6 Jessica (both UK) and it suits them both beautifully. I don't think of them as dated especially now we know young ones.
