I keep seeing Clara popping up here, so wondered if Claire itself was due a revival?

Obviously popular in the 80s but quite pretty to my ear and I can see it on a baby

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Claire still sounds ok to me. It’s not like Sharon or Tracey.

PurpleSky09 · 30/07/2023 19:07

I really like it

cariadlet · 30/07/2023 19:07

I think Clare and Claire are both very pretty.

RedToothBrush · 30/07/2023 19:06

Not for another 50 years or so.

For now Clara is the variant which is doing the rounds.

EmmaPaella · 30/07/2023 19:05

I like Claire. I prefer Clare. However, there were so many millions at my school that it escaped me how nice it is until recently.

I really like Claire, it's a lovely name.

Watto1 · 30/07/2023 18:59

I was on holiday last year and my dd played with a little Clare aged about 4 . I think it’s cute! Millions of spellings though - Clare/Claire/ Clair and I even came across a nurse Klare when I was in hospital.

KirstenBlest · 30/07/2023 18:57

I don't like Clara said as Clah-ra, but it's quite sweet said as Clair-a

KirstenBlest · 30/07/2023 18:56

Claire/Clare doesn't sound very nice in many accents.

LaurensArmpit · 30/07/2023 18:05

I prefer Claire to Clara. I think Clara is having Moment.

PickledScrump · 30/07/2023 18:04

Definitely not. Clara has a nice strong sound, Clare/Clair/Claire just seems nothingy and very dated.
