Anyone have a Sunner or Posy?

Does anyone have a Summer or a Posy? Having failed to agree on anything we both like these but don’t know how they are received. Family aren’t keen. We want something that feels happy, conveys warmth, lightness etc

I like both. Posy is a nickname for Josephine, so maybe you could use that for Sunday best, and call her Posy.

Posie is lovely, Summer is really not

GiddyGladys · 30/07/2023 17:36

Sunny is nicer imo

I love all the noel streatfield books so like posy. Summer is nice too.

Kimfluencer · 30/07/2023 17:29

I’m not personally keen on either.

Summer isn’t a nice word to say to me, despite the sunny meaning.

Posy is dreadful - childish and twee. I’d hate to be a grown woman called Posy!

Daisy is better and quite ‘sunny’.

I know one of each and I just think Posy is such a lovely pretty name. Also really like Polly

Summer is a great name, Posy will always be associated with the Ballet Shoes book for me.

I prefer Summer. Posie sounds a bit babyish to me for some reason, but it’s absolutely an adorable nn for Primrose which a PP has suggested x

There's a Summer and Autumn in DS class who are best friends, very sweet 💛. Lovely happy names. Posie Parker is a cool namesake but I prefer Summer.

Sunshineaftertherain187 · 30/07/2023 16:59

I really like Posy or Posie.
I think it would be good as a nn for Primrose.

BigBeeee · 30/07/2023 16:57

I really like Summer.

I like Posy too. It's pretty and happy and fresh and similar to Rosie but I wouldn't like to have to tell people that was my name now. It's lovely but would you be happy saying 'hi, I'm Posy.'

So I would choose Summer which is lovely but not childish.

Is Sunner an amalgamation of Summer and Stunner?
