As the title suggests. Which would you use?

Either will sound fine. Nice surname.

Please don't use a filler middle name. Most of the Lauras I know are Laura Jane.
Rose, May and Grace are overused as middle names.

Laura is similar to Lauren, Laurel

Which goes best with the surname?

KirstenBlest · 30/07/2023 17:35

Laura but it makes me think of people born in the 1980s.
Both names are nice.
I used to think Martha was too linked with the biblical character, so do think drudge a little, but I'm only mentioning that because someone has already done so.

Inmyownlittlecorner · 30/07/2023 17:28

Martha! I've known 2 in my many years of teaching and both were so kind & lovely that the name always brings a smile to my face!!

CurlewKate · 30/07/2023 17:25

Martha.

FatCatatPaddingtonStation · 30/07/2023 17:22

Laura! Classic, strong, simple and not too popular. And makes me think of Laura Ingalls Wilder who is fabulous.

I do like Martha too, but I love Laura.

RoseMartha · 30/07/2023 17:22

Laura

Janella · 30/07/2023 16:58

Both are lovely but Laura edges it for me. Much more unusual and somehow lighter than Martha.

Yettyanotherusername2 · 30/07/2023 16:57

Laura was on my list so I vote that. More unusual too I think

PossiblyNotOne · 30/07/2023 16:50

Laura.

I don’t like Martha but also it’s quite popular, which puts me off.

RuthW · 30/07/2023 16:10

Martha. Laura is very old fashioned.

lemonyellows · 30/07/2023 15:43

Laura sounds dated as in 80s or 90s. Martha reminds me of Martha's Harbour. Very cool

MichaelAndEagle · 30/07/2023 15:43

Shout out to my fellow Lauras!
Also born in the 80s and yes, it would make a refreshing birth announcement.

Viviennemary · 30/07/2023 15:41

Don't like Martha. Laura is ok.

aintnospringchicken · 30/07/2023 15:39

Laura

SkyeBlue28 · 30/07/2023 15:34

Martha

mathanxiety · 30/07/2023 15:32

Laura.
The name reminds me of spring for some reason.

Yoyoban · 30/07/2023 15:25

Laura.

WanderingWitches · 30/07/2023 15:23

I love Martha!

Roselilly36 · 30/07/2023 15:22

I have always loved the name Laura, great choice.

RosaSkye · 30/07/2023 15:22

Laura is pretty and would be really refreshing on a modern birth announcement.

I really love Martha though so that gets my vote!

EmiliaRuusuvuori · 30/07/2023 15:18

I don't like Martha at all, it seems quite harsh sounding but I think Laura is a pretty name.
it always makes me think of Little House on the Prarie, I loved that show when I was younger.

Threelionsandalioness · 30/07/2023 15:07

Martha is lovely ...Laura is very plain in my opinion
