CuttedUpAvocadoPear · 29/07/2023 00:35

Or there is Lindsay/Lynsey

CuttedUpAvocadoPear · 29/07/2023 00:34

These are rather dated, but you could try

Hilary/Hillary
Jocelyn
Evelyn
Vivian/Vivienne

Rowan - know if both a boy and girl with this name - ok

Wren - seems very popular on MN so will definitely be in the rise, not my bag

Robin - nice, Robyn for a girl maybe? Though I do know girls with both spellings

Frankie - ok if short for Francesca

Stevie - chavvy (sorry)

Sidney - nice for a boy, Sydney for a girl? Not keen.

Other choices might be:

Cameron
Teddy
Ezra
Spencer

CuttedUpAvocadoPear · 29/07/2023 00:12

Asa
Jesse/Jessie
Robin/Robyn

staybyyou · 28/07/2023 15:00

I like Stevie for a girl, less for a boy. I like Sidney/Sydney. Less keen on the rest.

I like Jules.

FoodFann · 28/07/2023 07:54

IMO:
BOYS
Rowan - fave for a boy
Sidney - boys name, least fave
GIRLS
Wren - girls name, least fave for girls
Robin - fave for a girl
NOT NAMES
Frankie - not a real name
Stevie - not a real name

Agree with this.

shadowchancesassy · 28/07/2023 14:14

Samantha/Sam
Billie

erikbloodaxe · 28/07/2023 13:48

Rowan and Dylan are bith male names. People do use them for girls but they are still boys names.

GiddyGladys · 28/07/2023 13:21

It spelled Sydney for a girl and Robyn. Not with an i

Lococo1 · 28/07/2023 13:11

Rowan - no
Wren - girls name
Robin - like for a girl, not for a boy though
Frankie - nice
Stevie - reminds me too much of steven (which i really dislike)
Sidney - fave

others i like:

Ellis/Ellice
Dylan (first heard it on Ed Sheeran’s support act on his tour last year! - love it more because i like her music)
Avery
Shay
Lenny/Leni
Morgan
Rory/Rori

PurpleChrayne · 28/07/2023 13:06

Every middle class kid seems to be called Rowan nowadays.

PossiblyNotOne · 28/07/2023 13:04

Can’t stand Sidney for a girl, it’s so ugly. Wren is a girls name and I really dislike it. Don’t like Robin either.

Alex/Ashley/Elliott however are nice, for both.

SquigglePigs · 28/07/2023 13:03

Rowan - like it for either boy or girl.
Wren - not keen and feels more of a girls name.
Robin - like for both but prefer the spelling Robyn for a girl.
Frankie - love for a girl, not as keen for a boy but it's fine.
Stevie - ok as a nickname for either but wouldn't use as a whole name.
Sidney - a bit dated (and I think Sydney is a better spelling).

ZacharinaQuack · 28/07/2023 13:01

I would use Rowan for a girl and Robin for a boy.

WhenSomedayComes · 28/07/2023 12:59

I’ve only ever known Wren as a boy’s name but perhaps it would work for a girl too. After all, you do get female wrens! It’s the nicest on your list OP imo.

strongcupofTea · 28/07/2023 12:53

Sorry I don't really like any of those names to be honest. They sound pretentious

How in the world is Robin or Rowan or Frankie pretentious? They are all very popular. As has Stevie been in the past.

AdaColeman · 28/07/2023 12:55

I've got mixed feelings uon gender neutral names tbh, they often seem more like gender confused names to me. For instance Wren seems more feminine and Robin more male to me.
I quite like Sidney/Sydney for a boy, but would spell it Cydney for a girl.

Other names I think would work are Lee/Leigh, Ashley/Ashleigh, Elliot, and I like Claude for a boy or girl.

continentallentil · 28/07/2023 12:54

Robin - love it and prefer this spelling for both sexes
Sydney - really nice and I’d probably go with this as less popular than Robin
Stevie - I like it as a nn but I do think it needs Stephen/Stephanie as a full name.
Frankie - I like it but I think it needs Francis/Franklin or Frances/Francesca as a full name
Rowan - I like it but it’s done to death
Wren - I don’t like it and it’s very much a girls’ name

Arran?

strongcupofTea · 28/07/2023 12:53

Sorry I don't really like any of those names to be honest. They sound pretentious

DinaofCloud9 · 28/07/2023 12:25

Rowan and Robin are nice.

I don't think Wren works for a boy at all plus it's an awful name jmo.

TrueScrumptious · 28/07/2023 12:23

Rowan is the only usable one.

RuthW · 28/07/2023 12:22

Sidney/Sydney at the top. Rest at the bottom

DuckIings · 28/07/2023 12:00

I love Frankie short for Francesca.

don’t like the rest.

I do like unisex nicknames like:
Sam
Alex
Max
Jo(e)
