Hannah is my favourite 😍
Prefer Claire to Clara.

Geobebe · 05/08/2023 15:47

I'm called Georgia and have never in my life been called George or Georgie just want to put that out there. I wish my name was Georgiana though it's very elegant and the name of a famous English duchess

Chevrotains · 30/07/2023 20:39

Oh, not really liking any of those tbh. Florence is the best

RuthW · 30/07/2023 17:37

Clara

Hannah and Georgia are dated.

Florence is my fav (I have an adult one) but they will get calked Flo.

Nadal1966 · 30/07/2023 15:07

Clara seems to me related to my grandmother's age.
Hannah, too many Hannahs , and probably find most in 20 and 30s IMO. My husband's ex wife used to call their daughter Hannah, Han, but her twin Charlotte, she would call Char. I found this a bit common, but the least said about that the better.
Georgia, I like , but does tend to call Georgie sometimes, but never heard shotejed to George
Florence I like , but I am not sure if Flo .
How about Eloise, or Louisa.

Theoldwoman · 30/07/2023 14:38

Clara is my favourite from your list.

I've never heard anyone say Clair-a! Always Clar-a.

My granny was a Clara and she pronounced it Claira!

DuchessOfSausage · 30/07/2023 13:45

Soph-eye-ah

DuchessOfSausage · 30/07/2023 13:43

@aSofaNearYou , in Charles Dickens' novels, it's said as Clair-ah.
Maria and Sophia used to be Mar-eye-ah and Sop-eye-ah

WaltzingWaters · 29/07/2023 21:47

Clara. Lovely name.

Is Clara pronounced Clair-a or Clah-ra? I think both are nice but she will be correcting some people, whichever you are intending. I like it best though, with Georgia 2nd.

Hannah or Georgia both lovely names

ourflagmeansdeath · 28/07/2023 13:33

Florence - Pretty and really lovely, don't think nicknames are needed and I dislike Flo/Flossie/Florrie, it's great on its own
Georgia - I think it's gorgeous but I do think Georgie she will get called and maybe even George but I don't think it is a masculine name on its own
Clara - Absolutely beautiful, my favourite of the 4. I can't think of cons.
Hannah - It is nice but very overused and your other names are better.

PossiblyNotOne · 28/07/2023 13:06

I really dislike Florence, it’s also really popular and a few years back felt overused.

Love Clara and Georgia. I know two Georgias and neither are shortened.

SquigglePigs · 28/07/2023 12:57

You definitely have a similar taste in names to me although I'm not keen on Florence. I think Flo is the inevitable nickname and I agree it's not great - doesn't help I know a very cute dog called Flo!

I think Georgia is gorgeous and not at all masculine.

Clara is lovely and very classic.

Hannah is nice (and was on our long list) but is just my least preferred of these 3.

continentallentil · 28/07/2023 12:43

Clara is lovely as is Florence. I know a young Florence as we can get flossy as a nickname

Cora??

I do like Flora but it does seem much "older" even though it probably isn't

I know a Flora who is mid/late 20s, stunning, funny, intelligent, very cool... yet somehow even she doesn't quite carry the name off 😅. Sorry to any Floras or parents of Floras, I'm sure it suits some people but I'm not a fan!

crabette · 28/07/2023 12:27

I know a Florence who goes by Florrie? Thought that was lovely, she's in her 20s.

peaceofmind1 · 28/07/2023 11:06

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/07/2023 09:04

If something is holding you back how about Lara instead of Clara or Flora instead of Florence.
