Grace!

Grace204 · 28/07/2023 18:26

I like Molly and Grace best

Coffeeandcakemum · 27/07/2023 10:58

I love Grace, beautiful name 😊

leopard22 · 27/07/2023 06:09

I'd go off what you like the most rather than popularity, our DS is an Oliver which at the time was no.1 on the popular list, yet he was the only one all through nursery and is the only one in his year at school (which I wasn't expecting at all)!

We've got grace on our list this time, I was surprised to see it's overused because I've not heard anyone called it since I was at school, I think area plays in to it sometimes

LulooLemon · 26/07/2023 23:27

I also love Iona.

But I think some people can't get past the 'I own a...' association.

You just have to be careful about whether your surname works with it.

Iona Davies, Iona Lawson, Iona Warrington = great
Iona Castle, Iona Fox, Iona Miller = maybe not so great

SpecialOnes · 26/07/2023 23:11

Molly

OopsieeDaisy · 26/07/2023 23:11

I like Molly the best. Isla is nice but overused, Grace is also overused but I’m not keen. Really don’t get the love for Erin, it’s got a scratchy sound to it imo.

Fleur405 · 26/07/2023 22:46

Ohyousillydivvy · 26/07/2023 22:17

Erin
Isla is overdone but Iona is beautiful

I find it so weird that Isla is mega popular and Iona isn’t. I think Iona is lovely!

Daisybuttercup12345 · 26/07/2023 22:44

I love Isla.
Grace and Erin are both pretty.
Molly not so much.

Fleur405 · 26/07/2023 22:43

I’m biased because I have an Erin! it’s not too common (at least not where I am) but not in anyway unusual or weird.

Molly is not my cup of tea at all but I like the others. I’m in Scotland and Isla is super popular right now. I think Grace is lovely too (we know quite a few close friends and family with the name so couldn’t use it).

lordloveadog · 26/07/2023 22:38

Mary or Margaret with Molly as diminutive? Then she can choose later if she finds the slang a problem.

The other names are nice but very popular at the moment.

Yoyoban · 26/07/2023 22:35

@continentallentil
. Molly is slang for ecstasy/MDMA
(as @TropicalTrama has also said)

Mumofgirls2017 · 26/07/2023 22:29

Erin
molly
isla
grace

that order

Viviennemary · 26/07/2023 22:19

They are all fine. But I like Grace best.

LulooLemon · 26/07/2023 22:19

Grace or Isla

42wordsfordrizzle · 26/07/2023 22:18

Have you Irish roots?

Eireann, pronounced almost identically as Erin, is the Irish language name for Ireland. It's used in the US by Irish-American families. I don't think it used much in Ireland as a name.

Ohyousillydivvy · 26/07/2023 22:17

Erin
Isla is overdone but Iona is beautiful

ScuttleMcButtle · 26/07/2023 22:16

Grace

Hankthehonk · 26/07/2023 22:14

Erin is my favourite. My dh vetoed it because it was an ex girlfriend's name which is fair enough!
I also like Isla but it's a bit overused here in Scotland.

CoffeeChocolateWine · 26/07/2023 22:09

Definitely Erin. I wanted Erin for DD1 all the way through my pregnancy, but 2 weeks before due date DH admitted he didn't love it as much as I did 😭

Isla is nice but I know lots of them. Not keen on Grace...I think it's the Grrr sound that makes it quite harsh to my ears.

Molly is awful. Wet, inelegant, frumpy and infantile.

momtoboys · 26/07/2023 22:07

Erin or Molly.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 26/07/2023 22:05

Isla is prettiest and Erin least common

Daftarchie · 26/07/2023 22:03

Erin absolutely

Pepperama · 26/07/2023 21:54

Erin or Isla

OrlaHarper · 26/07/2023 21:54

Why not all of them, in that order. Also, you'll know who she is when you meet her. Good luck!
