Ehllsyie as an alternative spelling of Elsie.. Thoughts?

DP suggested it but I think it's awful! Look dreadful lol and would condemn our poor DD to a lifetime of having to say "it's same as Elsie but spelt.... ". Argh!

Alternatively, your husband could keep his existing name, and change the spelling to whatever that was. It makes about as much sense!

As someone saddled with a bloody stupid name that I am STILL having to spell and correct pronunciations on 50 effing years later, I propose that anyone this stupid should not be allowed to name a child.

Apart from anything else, phonetically it's entirely wrong, so people are going to see it, and when their eyes have stopped rolling, pronounce it Ell-see-ee or Ell-sye-ee. Or even Else-yee. The one thing that letter combination can't make, is Elsie.
