DP suggested it but I think it's awful! Look dreadful lol and would condemn our poor DD to a lifetime of having to say "it's same as Elsie but spelt.... ". Argh!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CointreauVersial · 25/07/2023 13:21

Did DP drop something on his keyboard when he suggested that spelling?

CaptainMyCaptain · 25/07/2023 13:20

DO NOT DO THIS!

UnfunnyJester · 25/07/2023 13:18

How about Loseendah Capreeece then it's LC for a nickname.

CountTo10 · 25/07/2023 13:15

I always think 'alternative' spellings of names announce to the world their parents were illiterate. It's always not very bright people who do it. If you want your child to stand out in the world make sure they grow up to be a decent human being and not a ridiculous spelling of a name.

Leave the bastard Baarrstyaardd

😂😂😂

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 25/07/2023 13:12

Really sounds like he is trying too hard.

EnthENd · 25/07/2023 13:12

Speaking as someone who spent three decades of my life constantly having to spell out my (sur)name, and STILL having people get it wrong - don't inflict that on your child.

madeinmanc · 25/07/2023 13:12

This doesn't even make sense as there is no "h" sound in "Elsie". If I saw "Ehllsyie" I would be pronouncing the "h", as I'm sure many others would. So if you don't want that, don't use it.

TheCyclingGorilla · 25/07/2023 13:11

No. Why over-complicate matters?

nevynevster · 25/07/2023 13:11

As someone who had to spend their whole childhood spelling their name ... please don't. It's really bloody annoying and singles you out in ways you don't want

Blarn · 25/07/2023 13:09

I've clicked on this thread twice now and it doesn't even spell Elsie, its Elles yee!

maddiemookins16mum · 25/07/2023 13:09

One of the worst, he’s taking the p*ss surely?

That said, I know someone called Denym.

Toobusytoocare · 25/07/2023 13:09

Absolutely not!

LemonLimeDivine · 25/07/2023 13:08

Absolutely not 😂

AutumnCrow · 25/07/2023 13:07

Mochudubh · 25/07/2023 13:05

I'm reading that as Elsie in a very bad Southern US accent. The sort of accent where they say vee-hickle.

I imagine the husband is not a smart man

MistyGreenAndBlue · 25/07/2023 13:07

Why does he hate his child? 😂

Honeychickpea · 25/07/2023 13:07

Mrsjayy · 25/07/2023 12:34

Fleur405 · 25/07/2023 13:05

I’m not sure that even spells Elsie. And it’s horrible.

BritInAus · 25/07/2023 13:04

It's up with with aaylivviah which I once saw instead of Olivia...

Malificent1 · 25/07/2023 13:04

Leave the bastard Baarrstyaardd

Oceanus · 25/07/2023 13:03

It's not cute. Just sounds like the parents are bumpkins who can't spell properly.

Greenfishy · 25/07/2023 13:01

What? No

loislovesstewie · 25/07/2023 13:00

Why, just why?
This like the person I know who called her son this; Dgaque,
= Jake.
