DP suggested it but I think it's awful! Look dreadful lol and would condemn our poor DD to a lifetime of having to say "it's same as Elsie but spelt.... ". Argh!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My DD had a friend called Roobeigh.
How ridiculous does that look

It might be my eyes but I see Boobeigh

HappyasLarrynot · 25/07/2023 14:27

No! 😂

JudgeAnderson · 25/07/2023 14:26

It's not as pretty as Epponnee-Rae though.

ivycastle · 25/07/2023 14:26

Sounds like you coughed, OP 😅

MrsCremuel · 25/07/2023 14:26

Totally ridiculous

PoshPineapple · 25/07/2023 14:24

Yuk no! That said, we have an Elsie in our house, except it's spelt LC (for Leicester City the football team, not the town!). Oh, and she's a cat.

aintnospringchicken · 25/07/2023 14:24

Heck no.It's awful

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 25/07/2023 14:24

Please tell me he’s normally not insane.

99victoria · 25/07/2023 14:24

There was a boy at the school where I used to work who was called Maxx - when I first had to write it down I actually said to him 'oh, like the shop'? 😂

Angelil · 25/07/2023 14:24

Withdraw his naming rights, and then defenestrate him. Then name the baby yourself.

Elle-Ceigh
Ellesée
Elsé
Elsey
Elsea
Ellesea
Elsy...

I know a child with one of these alternatives, even that makes me a little 😬

Ethelwulf · 25/07/2023 14:23

Pretentious? Moi? Call the dear child that with that spelling and it's in for a world of unwelcome mickey-taking as it grows up, and on into adulthood. No way.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/07/2023 14:23

There’s nothing wrong with unique spellings provided you can see what the name is and never in a million years would I have picked that out as Elsie. If he wants to be creative with the spelling there’s always. Elsee. Elsey. Elsea or Elcee.

dancingsands · 25/07/2023 14:20

😂

Ladyoftheknight · 25/07/2023 14:17

Elsy, Elsee, Elcie all make sense and are younique but at least won't cause too much bullying/confusion.

Oh god. Don’t let him persuade you.

FFF3 · 25/07/2023 14:12

😂😂😂😂 this is a joke, right?

Brk · 25/07/2023 14:12

😂😂😂

No. It looks like someone sat on a computer keyboard and typed a jumble of letters by accident.

Viviennemary · 25/07/2023 14:10

Ridiculous.

LovePoppy · 25/07/2023 14:10

Does he hate your child?

Offyoupoplove · 25/07/2023 14:09

Middle name Trollarina

Excuse you! I think you mean Ttroll-harienaR 😏

diddl · 25/07/2023 14:07

I hope that this is for a hypothetical baby & you can easily ltb!

StaunchMomma · 25/07/2023 14:06

Apologies if I sound like a dreadful snob but, when teaching, I did assume chav tendencies from parents when I came across a bonkers spelling of a standard name.

I agree with you, OP. It's just setting DD up for a life of explaining pronunciation and spelling. Pointless, really. Plus it doesn't even spell Elsie! There's a really bizarre double ee thing going on.

Just no!
