Rose, Rosa doesn't work, use Rosanna Lee?

Love Rose and Rosa but it doesn't go with surname :(

Would you use Rosanna?

Haven't had a great reaction about Rosanna. I also don't love the "Sanna" part. I would hope that everyone would call her Rose but understand that you can't control nicknames so feel quite stuck :(

I was nearly named Rosie Lee but my parents immediately knew people would pair it with Tea 🤷🏻‍♀️

Marcipex · 27/07/2023 15:29

Rosemary is lovely.

mumarooni · 26/07/2023 22:39

Lengthen it, into Ana-Rosa or primrose or anything-rose eg Amy Rose. If it's the Ro sound maybe you like Ramona or Rhona or Brodie. If it's the flower assocation how about Viola or Bryony or Lorelei.

Pieceofpurplesky · 26/07/2023 22:25

Rosita or Rosina

Hankthehonk · 26/07/2023 22:22

How about Roslyn?

xPeaceXx · 26/07/2023 20:42

Even though I prefer Anna to Mary, over all, I think Rosemary Lee is lovely.
That can be Rosie or Rosa

Rosa Marianne Lee?

I just don't like Rosanna even though usually i like Spanish names. Rosanna is a bit too saccharine or something.

continentallentil · 26/07/2023 20:35

I love Rose and Rosanna but I wouldn’t use them with Lee - just because she’ll get Gypsy Rose Lee a lot and it will be annoying

If you are really set on it I’d go for Rosalind - you can call her Rosa for short, but she has an option that sounds different if she ends up not liking that

user1492757084 · 26/07/2023 09:22

I love Rosemary Lee and Roisin Lee.
I once read an unusual spelling of the name - Rosanagh.

LilyLemonade · 24/07/2023 07:49

I think Rosa and Rosanna are both pretty names that sound fine with Lee. Rose Lee is also fine though it doesn’t flow quite as well. I didn’t know the Rosa Lee rhyming slang connotation - I suppose many people won’t. I think Rosanna works better as it’s longer and flows nicely with Lee.

you could always call her Rose as a second name but make it her main name, so

Lucy Rose Lee
Amelia Rose Lee
(known as Rose)

Inthetreetops · 24/07/2023 07:35

What about Daisy?

Sounds like Dairylea.

I think it needs to be a strong sound

Harriet Lea

SavvyMaria · 24/07/2023 07:43

"Obviously her name would be Rosanna outside of the home. So I doubt she'll be know as Rose Lee it would always be Rosanna Lee."

I would avoid any name that you really don't want an obvious derivative of. You cannot dictate what her friends call her, and Rose or Rosie are the obvious choices for all the Ros... names.

I think of tea when I hear Rosie Lee. It's pretty big I'd keep looking if I was you.

msbevvy · 24/07/2023 07:43

Apart from the tea/fortune teller aspect, she might not appreciate being named after the world's most famous stripper.

Inthetreetops · 24/07/2023 07:35

What about Daisy?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 24/07/2023 07:26

Rosita?
Rosamund?
Rosemary?

Any "Rose" name is likely to one Rosie at some point. Are you happy with Rosie Lee?

Noideawhatiam · 24/07/2023 07:14

Is using the other parents surname a complete no go?

Diddykong · 24/07/2023 07:13

Beatrice so she can be Bea Lee

Ducksurprise · 24/07/2023 07:13

I'm not keen on hyphens but this is one that would solve the issue

Rosa-Grace Lee is my favourite

Rose-Sarah Lee

Rose-Juliet Lee

Actually I like Juliet Lee. I do get why it is a tricky surname

IDontLikeMondays88 · 24/07/2023 07:10

What about Rosalind

WimpoleHat · 24/07/2023 07:09

I hate to say it, but there are some names that are just a no go with some surnames - and with Lee, that’s Rose or Rosie! (Similarly, if you’re Brown you don’t choose Charlie and you don’t call your son James if your surname’s Bond). I think you need to pick something else. You’ve got an incredibly wide choice, as Lee is a surname that works well with most names.

Sugarfree23 · 24/07/2023 07:08

Op thinking of alternatives to Rose / Rosa
what about Zara or Laura.

WaltzingWaters · 24/07/2023 07:02

pictoosh · 23/07/2023 22:57

Rose Lee is fine, as is Rosa Lee (I think that's great actually).
Do not like Rosanna Lee.

This

PistachioGelato · 24/07/2023 07:01

Rose
Rosa
Rosmary
Rosalina
Primrose
Rosetta
Roisin
Rosebud
Wildrose
