Hi all. I’m expecting a baby girl next month, my partner and I have narrowed down the short list but can’t choose between them:

Charlotte
Phoebe
Matilda
Isobel

Phoebe is probably my favourite but not sure if it’s a bit infantile.. I like Charlotte but where we live people don’t pronounce their T’s so I feel like she’ll end up being Charlut 😂thanks all x

They are all nice, but all done to death other than Phoebe which is currently popular

So Phoebe

DearyDeer · 24/07/2023 23:23

Phoebe is my favourite!

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/07/2023 20:53

Phoebe is my favourite by far

Coronationstation · 24/07/2023 09:40

I like them all but I wasn't named Charlotte because of the way my Dad pronounced it!!
I know adult Phoebe's and it doesn't seem infantile on them.

All are lovely and all go well as each other's second names!
I rate them all 10/10.
Charlotte is my fave.

Matilda

FayCarew · 24/07/2023 08:48

Charlotte - nice
Phoebe - nice, not infantile at all
Matilda - not for me, don't like Tilly or Tilda
Isobel - Isabelle/Isabella too popular

Charlotte or Phoebe

WildEarth · 24/07/2023 08:38

I like Matilda best, but agree with others that Phoebe isn't infantile.

Leapintothelightning · 24/07/2023 08:27

I would just keep all 4 as a shortlist and then decide when she is born!
I didn't find out the sex either time I was pregnant so had a list of 3/4 boys names and girls names then decided when they arrived.
With my second we had a shortlist of 4 names, when she was born I couldn't remember 2 of them and one didn't suit so it ended up being an easy decision ☺️

All very nice names. Matilda is my favourite as it reminds me of Matilda of Boulogne, England's warrior Queen. I like Tilda as a nn too.

I love Matilda because of this association too, my partner says it just reminds him of the movie

Isobel

Jongleterre · 23/07/2023 23:34

Charlotte is lovely and also the character from the lovely book Charlotte Sometimes.

Love them all; you can't go wrong with any of them. Charlotte is my favourite though.

ThePoshUns · 23/07/2023 22:52

Isobel would have been the name I'd have chosen if I'd had a daughter. Love it

Mumofgirls2017 · 23/07/2023 22:50

Matilda 100% 🥰

shoopshoopdedoo · 23/07/2023 22:26

Love Phoebe! Definitely my favourite from your list, although they are all nice.

ShoesoftheWorld · 23/07/2023 21:58

They're all lovely, I'm having a time choosing. I think Matilda probably has the edge for me, simply because it works well internationally and I love Tilda as a shortening, but Phoebe is a very close second (and not infantile at all).

DuckIings · 23/07/2023 21:57

Phoebe.

LobsterCrab · 23/07/2023 21:56

Nice list, my favourite is Matilda (Tilda or Tillie for short).

Gingerbiscuits90 · 23/07/2023 21:55

Thanks all 😊I do love Phoebe, I think it’s lovely and love the meaning.

Phoebe

DramaAlpaca · 23/07/2023 21:54

My own favourite is Matilda, but they're all nice.

Phoebe isn't infantile so don't worry about that.
