Flower names for girls

Hello! I’m new here. Currently expecting our 3rd & final baby. We have two beautiful girls already - Poppy and Bluebell, and have recently found out this baby is a girl too! So we are looking for another flower name to go with Poppy and Bluebell. I’ve always loved Rose, however it I struggle because of the association with Rose West the serial killer (silly I know because the name and the flower are beautiful but I always think of her) Lily is also gorgeous but I already know lots of Lily’s. Any suggestions?
Other option we thought of is going for a jewel name as I’m named after a jewel myself, but ideally would like a flower to go with the other two 😊💜 - Please note, my other 2 girls are already named so I really don’t need to know if you don’t like their names 😹 just looking for ideas on what to call DD3, thanks in advance 🌸🩷 x

Variations of Rose maybe? We have Rosalie. Or Primrose, Rosie, Rosemary, Rosa?

DeeLasVegas · 24/07/2023 11:48

Blossom, Fleur, Daisy or Violet.

My 16 month old daughter is a Rose.

To me it doesn't matter that there is a Rose West. Who cares.

I've always loved that name.

I have always had positive comments on her name, never anything negative.

What about Camellia

Foxesandsquirrels · 23/07/2023 14:05

@Lavenderandbrown That was one of my books for A level English Lit!

Lavenderandbrown · 23/07/2023 13:43

It’s a lovely name and story about names. My son is named after “a prayer for Owen Meany” but Henkes has a book titled Owen. It’s still displayed in my sons room 22 years later. Chrysanthemum has 12 of the 26 letters. I also like Lilac which had its own thread very recently. Lilac Ann is a bit less cumbersome than Chrysanthemum Ann

My daughter is Lilia - I know not technically a flower but I chose it because like you I liked Lily but it was super common.

Lamb's lettuce is bland and grows like weeds. Not heard it being called Rapunzel. It might be a variety. it's a tomato variety, and a houseplant, Devil's Ivy.

Nellynoowhoareyou · 23/07/2023 12:40

Iris all the way. Love Hazel too.

Leab23 · 23/07/2023 12:38

I love the name Flora or Blossom (could shorten to flo and Floss even tho its doesnt start with a B)! Rapunzel is a nature based name if not exactly a flower, it's a name for Lambs lettuce which is adorable.

Primrose is a nice alternative to Rose, or Rosa

Mamagill67 · 23/07/2023 11:59

Fleur?

crummymummy4 · 23/07/2023 11:56

My oldest daughter is Bluebell Rose, my middle daughter is Marigold May & my youngest daughter is Violet Hope (she was going to be Violet Poppy but she was born at the height of the pandemic so Hope seemed more appropriate) Primrose was also on our list - hope that helps! 😊

DragonScreeches · 23/07/2023 11:11

Tulip🌷

Kelljo83 · 23/07/2023 11:02

I like Ivy, Violet, Bailey, and Sage. Also Willow is nice. I know it's not a flower, but tree is close right!? Kayan (like the spice is nice too)

NickiP67 · 23/07/2023 10:36

What about Camellia?

continentallentil · 23/07/2023 09:59

Jasmine is underused

Iris is lovely if popular

Ivy is nice if similarly popular

Daisy is nice enough

Briar
Bay
Fern
Cassia
Laurel
Sorrel
Brook
Robin
(If branching out a bit haha)

I’d avoid Rose and Lily because so overdone

Weedoormatnomore · 23/07/2023 08:43

Shame about Peony as it is the 2nd November birth flower. Would never have made the connection to pee on me though as sounds pe ony.

So many beautiful names to choose from! Thank you everyone 😊💛
We still haven’t decided on a name but we have decided against Peony because of the teasing potential for ‘pee on me’ - as someone else pointed out.
Lavender is still in the running - I did initially think of the lavatory association and teasing potential for that but the thing is ‘lavatory’ is such an old fashioned term nowadays - almost nobody of my generation uses that term (my grandmothers - yes - but barely any of my mothers do and even less mine) - so I doubt that term will be used much at all when DD is older.
I quite liked Lilac but decided it sounded too much like ‘Lyla’ - which is a beautiful name, but wouldn’t want her to have to be forever correcting people.
I love so many of the names people have suggested 🩷 some of my favourites are Primrose, Posey, Jasmine, Blossom, Meadow, Amaryllis, Dahlia, Willow and Petal.
I used to love Daisy and still love the name itself but unfortunately DD1 was badly bullied by a Daisy who was very nasty so it’s put me off (still a lovely name though) Ivy is also gorgeous but I have a close friend with an Ivy.
Been looking through all the suggestions and seeing how they sound with Ann as a middle name (both my other daughters have their middle name as Ann - after my lovely nan who I was very close with so I’d want this one to have Ann as her middle name too 💜) x

Lavender
Petunia
Daphne

What month is she due? Eg if it was December, Holly?

I love lavender so much but would be worried about kids shortening to Lav. Shame cos it's such a lovely name
