Flower names for girls

Hello! I’m new here. Currently expecting our 3rd & final baby. We have two beautiful girls already - Poppy and Bluebell, and have recently found out this baby is a girl too! So we are looking for another flower name to go with Poppy and Bluebell. I’ve always loved Rose, however it I struggle because of the association with Rose West the serial killer (silly I know because the name and the flower are beautiful but I always think of her) Lily is also gorgeous but I already know lots of Lily’s. Any suggestions?
Other option we thought of is going for a jewel name as I’m named after a jewel myself, but ideally would like a flower to go with the other two 😊💜 - Please note, my other 2 girls are already named so I really don’t need to know if you don’t like their names 😹 just looking for ideas on what to call DD3, thanks in advance 🌸🩷 x

Hebe is a flower, a hardy perennial flowering shrub

low hebe hedge in bloom

I like it as a name although I hadn't heard it before. I really like willow too.

Hebe 'Wiri Mist'

Blossom
Flora
Pansy
Willow
Violet
Zinnia
Petunia

Ohyousillydivvy · 30/07/2023 09:25

Zinnia is my favourite, although I'm a little bit biased as it's the name of my favourite aunt.

Ohyousillydivvy · 30/07/2023 09:23

@KirstenBlest The Arabic words for flower are Zara and Azahara. It isn't a type of flower but the actual word for flower.

KirstenBlest · 30/07/2023 09:17

That Zara is a flower name is debatable. Ffion seems a strange choice if you're not Welsh.

SneezyEvie · 30/07/2023 09:02

I would perhaps go for something that means flower like Ffion or Zara etc to avoid being gimmicky.

Dancerr · 30/07/2023 08:54

'Hebe' I love this name and believe its a flower/plant name?

Also love Primrose

Oh no not Hyacinth (Bouquet/Bucket)

Strictly speaking, it’s a man’s name.

urbanbuddha · 30/07/2023 04:14

Sorrel.

46mumof6 · 30/07/2023 04:02

I love
Primrose
Campion
Lilac
Violet
Azalea
Blossom
Peony

In my opinion Lily, Daisy, Jasmine and Rose are used to often, they are beautiful names

SammyLou3 · 30/07/2023 03:57

How about Aster. Pretty but a little different.

Sorry for the radio silence everyone! Work has been intense this past week & I’m really struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum with this pregnancy which I’m finding really hard, especially with work & also looking after my other 2 girls as well. But I’ve decided to go on Mat leave early this time so I’ve not got too much longer left at work now.
Anyway! Thank you so much for all the suggestions - some really beautiful names!
I love that there’s another mum on this thread with a Bluebell too - it’s such a beautiful name & I’m so glad I got to use it. I originally wanted it for my first but it didn’t suit her when she was born, she’s definitely a Poppy 😊❤️
You’ve all got some gorgeous names for your little ones! Been reading through them and they are all so lovely 💛. There’s some I really like - like Violet, Dahlia, Melia & Amaryllis but DH doesn’t which is a shame but needs to be a name we both like. I like Ivy, Iris and Lily but we have close friends who have already used those names. Tulip is also lovely but we have a pet tarantula already with that name 🕷️ 🌷- There’s just so many nice names!
Anyway - my top 3 at the moment are;

🌸 Jasmine (DH not overly keen but he doesn’t hate it)

🌸 Blossom (someone in this thread suggested it & I love it - I also had a obstetric consultant called Blossom when I was pregnant with my first so obviously having an unusual name didn’t hold her back career wise & also she was lovely so I have positive associations with the name 😊)

🌸 Willow

So just trying to decide between those 3 now I think 😊 - DH also likes Petal but I’m not keen.

Jasmine is lovely and can go by Jas. Also Princess from Aladdin.

I like juniper

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 29/07/2023 10:20

you already have a B with Bluebell. I personally probably wouldn’t go for a second B, but that’s just a matter of personal preference.
Blossom and Bluebell somehow also have a rather similar sound „colour“ to my inner eye.

Willow is gorgeous!
Jasmine is nice as well, but if DH doesn’t like it… 🤷‍♀️

IridescentRainbird · 29/07/2023 07:58

Jasmine was one of my suggestions. Yasmine is another very beautiful variant.

Not floral but I like Chrysalis. Butterflies and flowers go well together. It feels special.

Hope everything goes well.

Aster is a lovely flower & has many positive meanings x

Jaggie · 26/07/2023 15:09

Melía with an accent on the "i". A lot of people have commented on how beautiful it sounds and she is very found of her name herself:) that's a photo of the flower

We called ours Melia which is a name of a flower in Hawai, and means sweet as honey in Greek.

Is it pronounced
Me lee ah
or
Mel ee ah

Jaggie · 26/07/2023 14:15

We called ours Melia which is a name of a flower in Hawai, and means sweet as honey in Greek.

LadyEloise1 · 26/07/2023 09:34

It's not a flower name but means Little Flower in Irish - Bláthín

Willow is lovely as are Daisy and Holly.
I don't like Rose but do like Rosie.
I used to love Laurel but I have a laurel hedge that is causing me problems - it has grown a bit oddly with wee gaps in it so it has put me off the name Smile

Jb9090 · 26/07/2023 08:40

I love flower names! I named one of my daughters Azalea 🌸❤️

Zeto · 26/07/2023 08:06

How about Lilac .
