Asher is a vampire

ilovesprouts · 21/02/2010 12:34

reminds me of the song ,sorry dont like it

ellesabe · 21/02/2010 12:20

I love it!

stinkypinky · 21/02/2010 12:02

DD is Asha - means to hope and wish. Longed for child after I was told I could not have any. Most peoples response is very positive - pretty, unusual etc.

janeite · 21/02/2010 12:02

Asha, as in 'brimful' is a woman, a Bollywood actress I think.

Names like this are not normally my cup of tea but I must admit I like Asher. DD2 would have been Rowan Asher or Rowan Ashley, had she been ds.

LynetteScavo · 21/02/2010 11:58

Asher is a great name.

auricace · 21/02/2010 11:56

I like this name it is a bit different than the more commonly used Ashley but is still nice and not too strange

Astrophe · 25/02/2008 22:44

I like it.

slim22 · 25/02/2008 22:41

It resounds beautifully but gives me goosebumps as it reminds me of the main character in the witches trilogy by Ann Rice.

MAMAZON · 25/02/2008 22:36

friends Dp is called Asher.

i neither like nor dislike it, but i don't think its a name i would choose

MrsMattie · 25/02/2008 22:32

I love it (for a boy). My Dh laughed in my face when I suggested it, however , which is his response to most of the names I like...

nooka · 25/02/2008 22:29

Makes me think Fantasy - I'm reading a book with an Asher in it at the moment (another charactor is called "Gar") I wouldn't go down that route - Fantasy charactors are called silly names IMO. The Old Testament link is fine though - we wanted an Ezra too (fab name!)

pointydog · 25/02/2008 22:18

Fag Ash Lil

Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow

Geri2 · 25/02/2008 22:01

Makes me think of 'Jane Asher'

FourPlusOne · 25/02/2008 21:12

I think it's nice.

Ulysees · 25/02/2008 21:03

my boys have unusual names. Youngest is very unusual and got some strange reactions to that but it suits him and his middle and surname.

beachlover · 25/02/2008 21:02

i love it

Bubble99 · 25/02/2008 21:01

Asher is considered quite an 'old man's' name by my (Jewish) ILs.

A bit like Ernie or Harold.

Ulysees · 25/02/2008 21:01

depends on surname really quite like it

Othersideofthechannel · 25/02/2008 21:01

Asha as in Brimful of Asha is an Indian name. Means 'hope' (in Hindi I think)

Bubble99 · 25/02/2008 21:00

Asher is a Hebrew name.
Ashok and Asha are Indian names.

msappropriate · 25/02/2008 20:59

I think of the Jacob and sons song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour dreamcoat.

Old Testament names are very popular at the moment. I know boys called Asher, Dan, Noah, Jacob, Jonah, Caleb, Reuben, and a Zion
