Not Bibi on its own. It is a pet’s name!

sandrene · 18/07/2023 19:19

Juno

wendyjoy · 18/07/2023 19:14

Scarlet Moffatt just called her new baby boy Jude..
Only one name l like from that list is Bibi

LoonyLois · 18/07/2023 18:35

They all remind me of dogs names

salamithumbs · 18/07/2023 18:33

Sorry left out Jude- I think it may cause problems as most will assume it's a boy!

salamithumbs · 18/07/2023 18:32

I like Thea, Maya and Bonnie the best.
I personally think Bibi and Coco sound too nicknamey and twee to be real names, though I actually like Coco as a nickname for Coraline or something. Bibi could be short for Beatrice, Bryony, anything beginning with B really? But I would not like to introduce myself as either Coco or Bibi at work!
Marnie and Juno are fine, not to my taste but nothing wrong with them! Alma reminds me of Alma Pudden from Enid Blyton - not a good connotation, but I'm sure no one your daughter's age will make that connection! Alba is nice as well?

golddustwomen · 18/07/2023 12:39

Ooo I love Jude for a girl!

WaltzingWaters · 18/07/2023 12:37

Marnie.
Coco is lovely too if it’s a shortened nn (I know a Cornelia called Coco).

Heckythump1 · 18/07/2023 12:33

Thea - really popular
Coco - no, it's a clown or a dogs name
Bonnie - dogs name
Bibi - no
Alma - old lady name
Jude - boys name
Maya - I love it pronounced my-a, but people will pronounce it May-a as well, depends if you can be bothered corrected people forever.
Juno - really, really don't like this one at all
Marnie - lovely :)

erint09 · 18/07/2023 12:27

I've always loved Juno but as a nickname for Juniper. It gives the child the choice when they are older.

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 11:45

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:20

@Inkypot , it's probably far more popular as a name for cockapoos and labradoodles

One of my children has a name that's become weirdly popular as a dog and horse name lately! Lovely name but not one I ever expected to gain popularity in the pet world. So it wouldn't bother me one bit since we're used to that 😂

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 18/07/2023 10:23

I wouldn't pick coco or bibi

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 18/07/2023 10:21

I have a Maya (rhymes with Skya) . I still love the name but she's 16 and they are now everywhere!
Jude can be either but is more commonly a boys name these days.

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:20

@Inkypot , it's probably far more popular as a name for cockapoos and labradoodles

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 10:18

@Inkypot I've given you an all day earworm!
Not a bad one to have though.

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 10:15

@FayCarew @watermeloncougar I realise Coco Chanel's version began as a nickname, I meant that it's more likely where the name has gained popularity.
Also @watermeloncougar I am loving your name but now the Harry Styles song's stuck in my head 😄

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 10:01

@Inkypot , Coco Chanel was really Gabrielle.
It would make a great name for a pet but not a human.

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 10:01

Coco was a nickname: coco Chanel wasn't actually given it as a birth name!

FayCarew · 18/07/2023 09:59

Thea - meh. Lots of Theos
Coco - too nicknamey
Bonnie - ok-ish
Bibi - too nicknamey, although i do know one
Alma - ok
Jude - boy's name
Maya - meh. May-a or My-a?
Juno - a lot to live up to, but ok-ish
Marnie - ok

Inkypot · 18/07/2023 09:44

Weird how so many people are slagging off Coco, surely it's Coco as in Chanel.
Also Coco Clown is quite an aged reference nowadays, don't think many kids would think of it without parents input.
Courtney Cox and Cherry Healey both have daughters named Coco. It's a lovely name OP so if you like it then don't be put off by MN Wink

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:52

Bonnie and Juno are nice.

Mumofgirls2017 · 18/07/2023 08:28

Juno

also love coco but prefer if short for something
like Marnie, Thea, Bonnie too

chocolatecheesecake · 18/07/2023 08:02

Thea or Jude.

Coco or Bibi are fine as nicknames but not as their official name

watermeloncougar · 18/07/2023 07:59

@LulooLemon you pretty much wrote my thoughts!

Thea and Maya are fine, though I prefer Thea as Maya is fairly popular.

Jude is beautiful- for a boy!

Most of the others sound like nicknames. coco is particularly awful, it just makes me think of the clown or cocoa the drink my granny made.
