Hi all. Partner and I are stuck on these 3 names for our baby girl, which is your favourite? Surname is 3 syllabus.

Thea by a long way
then Imogen
Not Charlotte

egowise · 11/08/2023 22:38

My eldest is Charlotte. It's a beautiful name and anybody who has tried to shorten it has been told to GTF. By me and now her!

PeggyPoggle · 11/08/2023 22:22

Imogen. I have one and I call her Immy alot.

Always loved it

Dighi · 11/08/2023 22:03

Thea. Or Charlotte. Both lovely.
Imogen always reminds me of…

Thea, Imogen or Charlotte?

I have a Charlotte so obviously I'm biased!

You have to be happy with Charley and Lottie too though.

Moveoverdarlin · 11/08/2023 21:49

Not keen on Thea, sounds too much like Theo and there are hundreds of them around. Love Charlotte and Imogen.

faban · 11/08/2023 21:47

Thea is my fave by closely followed my Imogen. Charlotte is done to death here snd I'm not a big fan

Every other kid in our nursery is Theo or Thea at the moment. So I would go for Charlotte, I don't know any little Charlottes.

Really? I'm in the Sw and there are soooo many baby Charlotte's!

I have an Imogen, she's never Immi. Just Imogen most of the time, Imo, or Gin the rest. I also know of an adult who goes by Mimi. Mine is 3, and we've only ever met 1 other. I also really love Thea, and like Charlotte too, so you can't really go wrong imo!

PickledMuffin · 10/08/2023 23:31

Thea ❤️

gemmawaithagee81 · 10/08/2023 23:29

I have an Imogen, always get lots of compliments on it. We do shorten it for a non though, Immy and Mim mostly x

0021andabit · 10/08/2023 21:56

All gorgeous names but I absolutely love Thea.

Mummytobe333 · 10/08/2023 21:55

Thea 💓 I have a Thea. Imogen was on my list too however glad I didn’t go with it as I went off it since then.
Never liked the name Charlotte sorry

miniaturepixieonacid · 31/07/2023 17:56

I love them all but especially Charlotte. I know it's popular but it's beautiful. And almost every Charlotte I've met has been such a lovely person. I don't like Lottie or Charlie which seem to become a bit inevitable though. Imogens always seem to become Immy or even Ims to. I don't know why everyone insists on shortening such lovely names! At least that wouldn't happen with Thea.

Imogen is lovely and immi will be a very cool nickname when she's in her teens. I also love its meaning...and I wouldn't say it's common at all, in 2021 it was given to only 1 in nearly 11,000 girls! Thea is nice too, but will it be pronounced Theea or Theya, or is she always going to have to put up with it being a mix of the two?

Sorry to be that person, but I've no idea where you've got that statistic from. Imogen was given to 998 out of around 304,000 girls born in 2021. That works out to a much higher percentage than 1/11,000.

Love Thea
Love Imogen

Like Charlotte

Thea Charlotte is a beautiful name.

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/07/2023 18:42

Imogen
Thea
Charlotte

In that order

Amby1 · 29/07/2023 18:31

Imogen, definitely!

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:59

Also a lot of kids (and adults) can’t say ‘TH’ so she may get called Fear a lot.

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:58

Charlotte is a bit overused. Thea is a bit bland to me, close to Theo so seems more popular than it is. I know of a few little ones. Imogen is lovely, I’ve only ever known of one and she’s in her 30s, may get shortened to Immy but nothing wrong with that.

loverains · 18/07/2023 08:58

While Thea isn't too popular at the moment Theo and Theodores are absolutely everywhere and this would put me off using it.

BinkieBeaufort · 18/07/2023 08:45

So many Charlottes around, Imogen sounds like an ointment, so it's Thea for me.

WildEarth · 18/07/2023 00:15

Definitely Thea.

LaylaLjungberg · 18/07/2023 00:14

I love Thea.
