Any opinions on Margot or Nancy? Due in a few days 😅.

Also can't decide on a boy name AT ALL.....

I like Nancy, it has a happy, sunny feel to it.

TempsPerdu · 15/07/2023 21:27

Nancy is lovely - so much nicer than Margot. I like Laurie for a boy too (it’s pretty much the only one of the ‘nicknamey’ boys’ names that I like).

MotherOfVizslas · 15/07/2023 18:22

Nancy!

Nancy. Margot is hideous and looks like maggot.

This. I just see Maggots.

golddustwomen · 15/07/2023 18:02

I love Nancy. I love the way Margot sounds but I hate the way it's spelt.

Gateappreciation · 15/07/2023 17:52

Margot for me.

I’m old and Nancy Boy was derogatory slang for being gay. Ie. He’s a a bit of a Nancy boy

avocadotofu · 15/07/2023 17:43

Definitely Margot.

Lanadelday · 15/07/2023 17:42

Laurie Arthur is gorgeous for a boy

Nellie90 · 15/07/2023 17:30

@DustyLee123 yes I do keep saying we should wait and see what name the baby looks like! Maybe it won't look like either 😆.

@YukoandHiro 😂I think of gateaux too and also feel it's a little try hard. Margot seems to be a little love of hate really!

Being honest- I always read it as Maggot! I'm not dyslexic, I just always think of maggots when I read Margot and really dislike it.

Nancy to me is a dowdy spinster in her 80's- but maybe its due a come back?

You might like similar 'older' names like Hazel, Faye, Coral/Coralie and June?

YukoandHiro · 15/07/2023 16:27

HAVEnotOF · 13/07/2023 16:33

Like them both, but Margots are everywhere rn.

Margaux is a nicer spelling imo.

Agree but it's too much like gateaux

YukoandHiro · 15/07/2023 16:26

Both lovely but Nancy

Einevinefine · 15/07/2023 16:25

Nancy is great. Love the name Laurie for boy or girl, it was on my shortlist but vetoed every time by my exH.

ymemanresu · 15/07/2023 16:23

Marnie instead

DustyLee123 · 15/07/2023 16:22

I love both of them. Why not wait and see what baby looks like ?

yikesanotherbooboo · 15/07/2023 16:21

Nancy

Jongleterre · 15/07/2023 16:21

I love Margot as I used to have a large standard poodle by that name!

Not keen on Nancy.

DinnaeFashYersel · 15/07/2023 16:20

Margot

LlynTegid · 15/07/2023 16:16

Boys name I would say Dylan. Though of course very biased as Dylan Thomas is one of my favourite writers.

Don't like Nancy, so would be Margot if I had to choose between the two.

Nellie90 · 15/07/2023 16:14

Thanks all! I think we have a winner with Nancy. Let's just hope it's a girl so I don't have to pick a boy name 😆. I think Laurie Arthur will be the boy name though if it is!

Nancy - sorry but I don't get the Margot love at all and think it will become very dated.

OopsieeDaisy · 14/07/2023 23:14

Nancy! Really not keen on Margot and don’t get the hype. Also love Arthur from your boys list.

orangina01 · 14/07/2023 21:34

Nancy, so so sweet and different!

AllAboutMargot · 14/07/2023 16:39

Margot, of course.
