Copying Boris? His new baby has it as a middle name.

Actually, this thread started a day or two before Boris announced the birth and the name, so I have been wondering if it was Carrie who started this thread! 😁

Why? Unless you are Greek?

It's Johnson and his wife's new baby. It's not exactly niche.

I'm normally pretty up with celeb baby names, this one bypassed me
So at least I was right in my assumption

Daphnis156 · 21/07/2023 23:39

Why not Cyclops?

Ellmau · 17/07/2023 00:08

What kind of mockery is this? How would you feel if someone mocks your child's name?

Sorry, but anyone who names their child Odysseus has to expect a certain amount of hilarity.

continentallentil · 15/07/2023 10:25

Great

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 13/07/2023 21:29

Odysseus as a middle is fine - most people are unaware of others middle names.

It's Jacob Rees Moggs lad Sixtus I feel sorry for - double whammy of unusual Latin name and close in sound for kids to "Sex(t)us" (plus his siblings mostly have more normal/commonplace names to be extra unfair, even Anselm is much more liveable). Frank is positively boring/safe in comparison!

Just when you think someone can't possibly be more stupid - they excel themselves again.

There's nothing stupid in choosing a middle name Odysseus. What kind of gross comment is this.

Do you think Frank will be admitted to the Lords before he is thirty?

Snigger

ImNotReallySpartacus · 11/07/2023 22:19

I think this child is destined to spend a very long time travelling......probably to get away from his embarrassing parents.

All of my children have at least one classical Greek name, but Odysseus is too out there even for me!

greenspaces4peace · 11/07/2023 21:55

a bit "odious"
unless your greek and it's a family tradition.

Viviennemary · 11/07/2023 21:52

Its ridiculous.

Happyhippy99 · 11/07/2023 21:50

Should have added Balonz as a 4th name

Lucienandjean · 11/07/2023 21:45

I like it, but then I like Classical names.

TheCyclingGorilla · 11/07/2023 21:41

Diddy for short. Grin

TheCyclingGorilla · 11/07/2023 21:39

I love wacky middle names! Go for it! Embarrass him on his wedding day!

I wanted to call my only child Cleopatra Minerva but was vetoed.

morelippy · 11/07/2023 21:03

Tbf I've seen plenty of worse names on here

I think it's fantastic! As does my 9yr old who is obsessed with all things Greek mythology 😀

midsomermurderess · 11/07/2023 20:34

Oops, it's Alfred for this one.
